Autopot Guru
What’s up guys, finally back with another grow… been almost 6 months since my last grow wrapped up so I’ve been itching to get this one started. Very excited to be growing these two strains… The Fastbuds GSC I did last grow was some of the most potent weed I’ve had and the Gorilla Glue is supposed to be even stronger so expecting good things from this strain... The Red Poison is the plant that basically got me hooked on growing autos and is still my favourite. The first RP I did produced some of the best looking buds I’ve ever seen so excited to be doing this one again and with my autopot setup this time
My setup is pretty much the same as last grow with a few changes... Had to get some more bloom nutes so got the Coco specific ones this time, interested to see if it makes a difference with the cal-mag issues I usually get in late flower. Also added some Silicate to my lineup as well... Here's the details for this grow.
Grow Area:
4'x4'x7' Mars-Hydro Grow Tent
4" S&P TD-100XS Silent Exhaust Fan and Carbon Filter
Lighting:
Mars-Hydro 400w Mars II LED (190w actual)
Cidly Apollo 4 LED Custom (130w actual)
2 x DIY COB LEDs (Bridgelux Vero29 3000K Chips @ 2.1A-80w)
Nutrients/Supplements:
Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect Sensi Grow, Sensi Bloom Coco, Bud Candy, Big Bud, Voodoo Juice, Overdrive, Grotek Pro-Silicate and Cal/Mg
Medium:
Mo’Koko Premium Coco Substrate
Autopots have 1" bottom layer of clay pebbles
Pots:
2 x 15L Autopots with AirDomes
I'll be focusing a bit more on the Autopot details for this grow since I'll be documenting it in this section.
Here’s a brief Autopot start-up guide:
- Place root control disc gold face down inside the pot.
- Fill the bottom of the pot 1-2" (2.5-5cm) no higher with either, washed pH stable Clay Pebbles or Perlite. If using AirDomes it should only cover about 2/3 of the dome.
- Fill the rest of the pot with your choice of medium.
These Autopots work well with pretty much any medium but for best results I’d definitely recommend using them with Coco. I’ve been mixing in around 20-30% perlite my previous grows but trying out straight coco this time around since I don’t think it’s really necessary with this medium.
I watered both pots initially with about 1.5L of 5.8 pH water with Voodoo Juice and Cal-Mag at 1ml/l. Both are currently just under my Apollo LED running 24/0 for first few days then will switch to 20/4.
