Live Stoner Chat Has anyone ever used cannabis to get off RX Opiates

I am currently on 20mg of Oxycodone for severe Back and Neck problems both areas have Rods or Plates and screws in my spine. Been on pain meds for years. Even been on morphine, oxycotin. I want off this crap. I went down from 30mg to 20mg oxys in May but I used Cannabis to help with withdraws. I was sick for Almost a month. But has anyone used Cannibis to totally get off them. Would appreciate any information, suggestions. Thank you so much for even reading this. Doctors know how to prescribe the poison, but they don' know how to get you off them. I can' find a detox with a open bed. Medical Cannabis is getting ready to start in my state, but Pot Docs want your records, but as soon as I have them transferred I will get kick out of my current pain clinic. I can' be left with nothing for pain. Sorry for keep talking but I am getting to the end of my rope with this problem.

I was on prescribed oxy for 8 years. I decided i had enough, and started to suppliment pain meds with herb as much as i could to suppress my pain(ruptured discs in the upper neck, severe nerve pain). I slowly brought my oxy doses down over a couple of months, while increasing herb consumption. Smoking though only ever provided a mental distraction from my pain. It wasnt until the Green Dragon Tincture came in my life that i actually found some real pain suppression from canna.

Yeah id say get a potent RSO an you shud be oxy free i was on high dose pre gablin and tramadol for nerve damage in spine and shoulder i got off them smack pills easyily with herbs and waxs etc... the more potent the easier my friend and i hope allah or god or whoever is on yahbside for a good recovery from smack pills and ur injury

And agreed gs smoking more of a mental suppression of thing its the reason i smoke to supress my eumpd (emotionally unstable multiple personality disorder) it supress the thoughts to hurt peoples and myself etc... the anger from the hyde sides of me smoking keeps me the real me where is waxs oils and concentrates help ur pains and illnesses more direct....

I was taking Morphine and Vicodin for quite a long while, two drugs that I really didn't want in my system. They started playing with my mind and I knew it was time to purge my body of rx pain meds.

I rotated off Morphine and Vicodin in 3 weeks time with help from marijuana. I DO NOT suggest such a short rotation for others as I know my body intimately. My spouse said that marijuana has been the best medicine for me bar none. Hey it isn't perfect, but that's ok, it does what I need it to do. I went about 8 years without pain meds, but can now take one from time to time if things get really bad and I need an extra boost. That is a rare occurrence though.

I have put my body through a lot of testing of marijuana and am at a point now where I know exactly what I need. You will need to go through a process with indica and sativa to find the sweet spot so to speak.

Howdy! I've used oxy's for many years, most was 120mg daily. It actually creates its own 'pain environment', which keeps you feeling like hell. Anyhow, I noticed the 'bigbadjock' mentioned ROS, and I second that opinion. No amount of smoking weed or shatter helped enough to matter. I dreaded that come-down sickness, which is the main reason I didn't stop. I accidentally stumbled on RSO(Rick Simpsons oil or Phoenix Tears) and was shocked how it **nearly** eliminated that horrible oxy-come-down sickness! I just divided one syringe into several capsules (you need to start slow) and take it like a pill. I still take 20 mg's of oxy a day, but am working my way off them by leaving more hours between doses. I made my own edibles from strong hash and they got me stoned but did not do what the Phoenix Tears does. Apparently the whole plant is used in making RSO, but not sure about that. I wish you strength and positive results!

Have you tried green dragon tincture(made out of everclear 195proof)?

I grow my own, but I am a newbe and my smoke isn' the greatest yet. My state will have Med. CANNIBIS ready hopefully by the end of the year. So Tinctures not here yet. Hoping it' one of the products that' going to be available. All of us know here how them damn RX pills took years away from our families. The depression, that they cause. The feeling of I don' feel like doing anything mood. The clock watching of when can I take that next pill cause I am hurting g like hell. Who' s ever sat there and counted there pills making sure your going to have enough. And the big one my doctor gives me 3 months of RX's after the 2nd month it' like we'l can' smoke any weed cause I might be getting pissed tested this time. Just tire of it. No way to enjoy life.
