Hey everyone 1st time grower here . Im 63 days into my grow. I got 6 autos going . 4 of them are 2 fast 2 vast the other 2 are amnesia haze. Im using an ipower 600w hps light in an open closet . I lined the whole closet with mylar. The plants are in 5 gallon buckets with foxfarm ocean soil. I havent used any nutrients and all the plants are doing really well except one that got damaged after germinating it broke when i went to take it out of the paper towel. It still grew but its a runt.So 3 plants are 62 days old and 3 are 53.

Anyway i want to start using nutrients i got the foxfarm trio . I got ph up and ph down and i got a ph tester. The tester reads ppm's . Ive been reading that the ideal ph is 6.5 .My tester reads 677ppm when i test my water after i add the nutes . How does that translate to ph? im a total noob

Ph is the acidity or alkalinity of the solution . And ppm is the strength or the part per million of nutes to water..

So is 677 ppm ok ? I really dont understand it.
I think that would be ok at this stage of their life but in flower make sure to use bloom nutes. To test mix the nutes at full strength according to the instructions and then test the ppms and compare to the 667ppm . If full strength mix is 750 it would mean it is just a little lower then full strenght.

Use a PH Pen to test PH and a TDS Meter to test for PPM - like @islandgrower said.. PPM basically tells you how many parts per million - okay think it bout it like this..the more nutes you put in..the higher the PPM - cos it concentrates the water with more ( parts ) ... I hope that kinda made sense :baked: ...anyways..yeah Auto's 667 is good - and your plants are looking good so Cheers bro..:chimp:
