Hello, I´m gitfreak (a guitar freak) from the south of Germany.

First of all sorry for my poor english, reading and understanding is more easier then writing in english for me.

I did grow already 2 times about 10 years ago. At that time it was a Top44 and Durga Matha from Paradise Seeds, if I remember right and a few other strains wich I can´t remember. So now I decide to grow again for Medical issues, athritis and back pain. The herb does really help me to relax and I feel much better when I vape some weed but I´m fedup of the low quality and huge price of the street weed. I pay 15€ for 1 gramm low quality weed here in my spot of germany, they are crazy. I smoke pot since back in the ninties and remember at that time I got weed or hash for 3 to 5 Euro. Anyhow, I bought a tend 1m x 1m x 2m and start my grow and now is Day 28. The strains are 2 Think Different and 3 Auto Ultimate from Dutch Passion. The first few weeks they grow under 2 180Watt LED and then switched to 400 Watt HPS since I had the feeling that the LED wasn´t covering perfect 1m².
I am growing this plant´s with the SCROG techinque and they are doing very well I find. But I have now issues with humidity. When light is on I have about 60% RH but when light is off I have until 89% RH and that is way too much. They are now in preflower stage so I would like to go under 50% RH. My question is, can I defoliate Auto´s? Does anybody have experince with that, or is it to stressy for Autos? Should I buy a dehumidicer? Does this work well? What do you experienced grower recommend to me?

Thanks much for reading and hope to get many useful tips.

I really enjoy here to read at this forum, all you are nice guys. PEACE AND HARMONY TO YOU ALL :-)

Hi gitfreak :)

Welcome to AFN :welcome:

It would be great if you made and introduction, so we can give you a good welcome and it is a great way to get to know some of out wonderful members :)

Here I will give you a link - https://www.autoflower.org/index.php?forums/introductions.35/

Nice to see you have had some experience with growing in the past :) It will be a great help with your new grow.

If your extraction fan can not reduce you humidity then a dehumidifier is a good idea, especially with such high RH.

It is best to get a dehumidifier that has a RH control so you can set it to the desired RH.

Defoliating auto is not something I have seen very often but growers do often do selective pruning of fan leaves that shade out the lower bud sites.

I grow using techniques which produce short dense high yielding auto's and find that I like to selectively prune leaves to let the light penetrate the lower bud sites and to allow air to circulate.

One thing I will mention is cannabis likes to have a wet/dry cycle, allowing the soil to dry out a little between waterings will allow more oxygen to your roots and may reduce RH a little.

Even though you have grown before it may be a good idea to start a journal in the new growers section of the forum.
This forum can offer more help than some of the other forums which have less traffic.

I will give you a link to it - https://www.autoflower.org/index.php?forums/new-growers-forum.44/

If you are confident of your growing skills, then by all means start a journal in a different forum section.

happy growing :D

Hey pal,

good to have a new German member. I have a Fender acoustic and there are other guitar freaks and musicians on site. Your English is more that OK. Enjoy the site and best of luck for your grows, eP.

Welcome to AFN ! Set up looks good. Dehumidifiers work well. My friend has a set up in his basement and had to use a dehumidifier, It takes a bit of extra vigilance and maintenance, but it is well worth the time. Best wishes! :peace:

:welcome:

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Yes I will order a dehumidifier before humidity starts to become a serious problem for the plants. Thanks for the advice :-)

PEACE
