Hi all! Been a smoker for about 20 years now, always wanted to grow but only just got around to it. Not using lights just compost, perlite, fish blood and bones, oh and sunshine, the little that we seem to get that is! Currently growing 5x Northern Lights autos and a full term blueberry. Plants having mixed results between one looking great with lots of bud sites and white pistils (day 63) and some not so good, one of them genetically not right at all, odd leaf shapes and numbers, little growth etc.

Any ideas on how large the buds should get? I've only ever seen the end result, usually from an ice cream tub!

It is great that you have found us, I know your like what you see, loads of good members & staff to get you growing like a pro and the vibe here is nothing short of amazing

If your using bag compost generally they only have six weeks (some times only 3 weeks) of ferts in them and then you need to give them a feed.

Blood Fish & Bone is a nice organic soil additive but is slow to release it constituent parts, as it need to biologically degrade before it is becomes available to your plants.

A PH pen will also be of great use, you may have a nutrient deficiency due to incorrect soil PH which can cause nutrient lock out.

The best way we can help you with your grow is to start a journal in the "Neww Growers Section" in the forums.
Include as many details as you can as it helps members see what going on and be able to give the best advice possible.

It is also a good idea to include lots of pics as it can help with your leaf problems by seeing whats going on.

Thanks for your reply Arty Zan! Only reason I haven't used nutes mentioned is that I cannot see bio bizz products in my local garden centres and am unsure what to use as an alternative. I have avoided miracle grow and similar as was advised that they are totally inappropriate. Any tips on nutes I could buy or make would be much appreciated as walking into Mole Valley Farmers and asking for ganja juice is probably a bit of a no-no!

Forget about Mole Valley Farms no BioBizz there, just straw chewin wurzzles lol

BioBizz is what I used to use when I was organic (I was organic for years and then was given some free nutes and switched over).

Hello Mac,

welcome to AFN, as a tight wad, I don't use canna specific nutrients as they are so expensive. Me, I use Chempak No2 and No4 from all good UK garden centers. Works for me. Also, Epsom salts are a cheap Mag supplement.
