New Grower HELP..... first time grow leaves burning.

organic potting mix and some black oklahoma dirt from around my pond. i only water when the pot get light feeling.

What brand of potting mix? Are you adjusting the pH of your feeds and checking the pH of the run off? If so, what are the pH readings of the feeds and the run off?

No, don't remove those leaves yet.

I don't remember what brand it was it was cheap bag from the dollar store, and no i haven't been checking my PH i don't have anything to check it with right now. but i have been using rainwater i collected that is being aerated by a 30 gallon air pump.

I suspect you may be having a pH issue that is causing the yellowing. If you want to be a successful grower you are going to need a good digital pH meter. It's a must have. In the mean time you can pick up an aquarium test kit for about $20 at WalMart. While not as accurate, it will at least give a ball park reading.

I can see by your pictures that you don't have enough perlite in your mix. That could be contributing to the wilting. Weed like to grow in loose, well drained soil. The perlite helps to keep it loose and brings needed oxygen to the roots. Did you add any dolomite lime to your mix?

no do you think it could help adding dolomite lime to it?

Hey mate I waited till my babys did it, new they would... took a few shots of my dark devil and devil cream drooping looking horrible, I think its a growing or resting thing not sure but I know mine is goin to be ok coz my first dark devil, now harvested... did it from 14 days on wards these babys stated early like day 6 with the droop the do it for roughly 8 hours a day at the same time every day... wierd but there ok. Now I dont know what yours is doing but it could be this like mine. If it dosnt perk up in the next 6 or so hours its not what mine does hope this helps mate good luck.

yep ur right kylie.my plants do it everyday right around 4pm then perk up again around9pm.whats a trip is my lights aren't out then.i was thinkin bout switchin to lights out then.

You need to "know" before adding anything. You may not be acidic, BUT, some of the plant matter in pic 3 looks to be cedar leaf material or some other evergreen as well as pine bark which will make it very acidic. You can neutralize a bit with a gallon of water and a half teaspoon (level) of baking soda. Hitting up a pool supply store right now would be a REALLY good thing unless you can find a moisture/ph meter at a garden store.

well i will def find some kind of ph test kit on sunday when i go into town.

Just don't waste your money on those $20 soil probes. They are notoriously inaccurate. A liquid test kit will work best for this application.

I suspect you will probably need some dolomite lime so you may want to pick some up while you're out. It's cheap, usually less than $5 a bag. Just don't add any yet until we see where your pH is at.

will do for sure. just want to say thanks to everybody on here for helping me through this first grow.
