Hello, I am fairly new to AFN so Im not sure if im posting in the correct section. Okay, so on May 2, I discovered my AutoMazar fem seed had finally cracked. I decided to plant it straight to a 5 gal smart pot using FFOF. I first watered about 3-5 inches of the top soil, but yesterday I decided I wanted to try a Sub Irrigated Planter(SIP). I have a few questions as this is my first grow.

1. How long do AutoFlower plants take to break surface?

2. Did i screw up the plant by planting it straight into its final home?

3. Did I over water? (I live near/in a desert region) (100F already>.<)

4. Has anybody grown AutoFlowering (specifically AutoMazar) plants with the SIP method?

Any advice and help given is appreciated greatly.
I look forward to getting a little active on this site and learn as I go. :D

First off welcome to the site. Sometimes they take a while to pop up just give it some time. I usually plant directly into the pot I'm going to be using, some people start them in solo cups cut the bottoms out then stick those into the final pots, which I would have recommended for you since OF can be a little hot, might want to have started it in light warrior. It doesn't sound like you overwatered it. Basically my advise though would be to wait and see what happens, sure someone else will come by with better tips but thats all I got for you and good luck :gthumb:

Thanks:)
Okay good lol I had a feeling i was just over thinking and need to be patient.
Yeah i was a little iffy on the OF, but the hydroponics chick gave me a 50% discount on the bag.
Thank you again, and i appreciate the advice :smokebuds:

I've just planted 5 automazar's, they took almost 4 days to break the soil, I was thinking the same as you also you're better off planting em straight into their final home, auto's can get stressed when transplanted

awesome!
that makes me feel good haha
I have read that also, but after planting them. Luckily I did so anyways.
Goodluck on your grow ! :smoke:

Hey brother.Well Ive have no experiance with Auto Mazars although I plant on gettin some one day.LOL!but Ive had various types of different Auto seeds break the surface of the Soil in 48hours to a week later. All depends on how you start them, the temps.all your numbers have to be on and it goes faster ofcourse. As a rule IMHO most water their main growing(Home) pot. should be watered in prior to sowing to soil.you run less of a chance for dry pockets within your soil(s) .once its watered you might,MIGHT mist it a time or three through sprouting stage.but thats my experiance man.I saw you mentioned 100F outside.ya growing outside?anything over 85F will slow your growth and much hotter than than that can stop your growth 100%.I try n keep it shaded with either shade cloth and/or partial shade durring the hottest part of the day.and make sure your roots dont cook in the sun either.a probe temp gauge is what I use for the soil so I have an idea of whats going on.I hope this touches on whatcha were thinkin brother.hope all is well with you and your grow brother.be well.:smokeit:

Hey, thanks for the comment.:)
I heard they're a treat when they're all done and ready to smoke. lol
Yeah, I'm just impatient and kind of nervous lol
But this grape ape shall call my nerve soon
I must admit, I had only touched the surface of growing knowledge before I planted the seed, and wish I had went into depth with reading lol
Yeah we have some pretty rough weather where I live, and it's nothing compared to summer :(
I use a shade cloth from 12-3(usually the hottest time of day here)
Im only growing outside cause the parentals wouldnt really appreciate the smell inside, and because of a very tight budget due to school.
I was worried about dry pockets, so I adopted the SIP method into my grow, basically watering bottom up. The plant takes water as needed from a resevoir under, preventing under and over watering.
Well thats the theory at least. I made another scaled down version, and planted a germinated bagseed that im just testing with.

I appreciate the advice and inputs you've provided, thank you :booya:
