New Grower help, how much ona gel to use?

I've a small grow around 2 weeks in and the plants were starting to get a bit whiff.
I got some ona gel apple crumble delivered today, I put one heaped table spoon into two small glasses and a drop of water to stop it dehydrating.
My grow is in my bedroom, the ona gel is now honking me out big time, the house stinks throughout and my eyes are stinging big time
How much do you guys use?
Would love to hear your opinions
I've for now put crystals back into its tub and just left the glasses out wet

I bought a few different sizes 'just in case'. Recently I started using the small 4 oz container and all I did was peel the foil back about an 1/4 of an inch. It is not overwhelming but you can smell it.
