[HELP ME!] Rusty edges on lower leaves

Starting on lower leaves. It seems like a cal or mag def, but it doesn't look quite the same to me. Could also be nutrient burn it seems, so I don't wanna do anything because it could make it worse

For certain reasons the weekend after this one, I need to keep the plants concealed for a couple of hours, maybe from about midday to the next morning. How harmful would it be to take them inside and put them in a wardrobe with no light for this amount of time?

I'm not sure what the leaf problem is, but will be interested to find out when someone diagnoses for you. Nute burn usually manifests (for me) as just the very tip of the leafs going yellow to start with.

As for hiding the plants - i've had to pop mine in a black back in a box in a car for 12 hours on one occasion and in a dark loft for maybe a bit longer. Not ideal - but i didnt really notice any effect other than they looked a bit unhappy for a day or so after.

Well atleast the issue of hiding them is sorted, i'll just put them in a cupboard for a few hours

As for the rusty edges on leaves, Im quite worried D: it might be a pH issue, tap water is 7.7 and I literally have no other options if its defo pH then I could get some pH down stuff, i need to hear for sure though

Definately a PH issue

7.7 is too high. I was thinking yesterday after i'd posted, why didnt i ask the question "whats your PH like?"

Anyways, I'm going to take run-off pH readings with indicator paper tomorrow, to see how bad the pH really is D:

Before I buy pH down, do people think it would be ok just using bloom nutes, as they both contain phosphoric acid as the main ingredient. Also none of the pH down on the market seems to be for soil

I think it's just nitric acid (30% ish) - there's a more powerful one (phosphoric??) but for small amounts of water (less than 10 litres) the nitric acid will be fine.

Don't think i've ever seen a soil specific ph down - although i have seen organic ones.

Just basically adding acid to water to make it the right PH. Dont forget you'll need a PH pen/meter to test it with and you'll need a bottle of PH 7 calibration fluid. (I calibrate before every grow now to make sure my meter is not leading me up the garden path!)

Thought I'd update this in case anyone came here with the same problem;

I ended up not doing anything, and the rusty edges didn't spread any more stylez rasta smoke I reckon it was either weather (which was pretty shit), or perhaps insect damage.

There are odd brown spots on my leaves still, but I'm keeping a close eye to make sure it doesn't become an issue

Im guessing you are growing outside? Nutrient burn normally goes brown at the tip and works inwards, but it doesnt quite look like straight out cal/mag deficiency. Maybe a lockout? What is your growing medium and what are you feeding it? and how much?

Yeah growing outdoors, in soil. Not sure the pH of the soil, but I know my tap water is 7.7, though the nutes probably brought it down. The problem didn't get worse after this post so I don't think it was pH. I was feeding it quite a lot actually (11:4:5 something like that), so it was probably that
