HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!!

What is you pH at? More often than not, it is the problem most people face.
Rockwool has a tendency to really alter ph.
I have never ran a hydro set up, so I'm a bit limited on issues than can arise from it. Judging from the pic, the color looks okay to me. Are you using a flash on the pic? Different light sources will alter a pics color. Is it worse than the pic makes it look? It just looks a bit small and to be curled under some. Maybe to much water, but with not doing any hydro, I don't know if that even makes sense. Sorry I can't be of more help bud.

@Fuggzy i havnt even got them in the hydro yet, hand watering at the mo, I havnt checked the run off of the ph, but cubes were ph'd to 5.6 twice before they got anywhere near my plants....but I'll test that in abit with abit run off and see what it's at,
Yeh really light green, hard to get a pic with a natural light source mate

So tested abit run off from a cube and it was 7.0 but like I said I always ph to 5.6

Should I run some ph'd water through them?

I havnt even got the table running yet, be a good job when I do that I have a big res coz the fluctuations would be massive

@Fuggzy this a pic of what my plants look like

I just reread the 1st post and noticed you feeding. What nutes are you feeding them? The plant I pictured has only received water so far, but I am in organic soil. Even at 1/4 strength, they may have just got to much.
soybean_seedling.gif

The cotyledon, or "seed leaf" provides new seedlings with the nutes it need to get started. Maybe there is a chance they just got to much N. It may explain the claw look.

If your pH is out of sync it can cause lock out for the nutrients. Out of sync Ph can lead to many symptoms, appearing as about any deficiency. 7 is kinda high, but all mediums react differently.

Maybe if we ask nicely @Waira would share his wisdom.

Canna start mate, I was below 1/4 strength

I know 7 is high but like I soaked them twice over a period of 3 days and squeezed out some excess water

All my water is ph'd to 5.6

I'm uncertain of what to do next, rinse them and squeeze excess out again, once or twice

I'll wait on some expertise @Waira

So @Fuggzy relating to my ph issue I've topfed 40 litres of ph'd 5.6 water through my rock will until it is in the 5.6 to 5.8 range, squeezed most of the excess off.

See how these go..let them dry for a day or 2 then give them a very light feed.... If they show me signs of perking up happy days, if not I'll just bin them and order some more and make sure everything is ph perfect at the start, I didn't test run off at he start which is a stupid mistake but a huge one.

Reckon here was a little nute lockout aswel, less is more is true and I've had a little bit of overwatering like you say

4 inch rockwool cubes instead of 6 will be used too as final size

Also may soak my small cubes in a very very light canna start mixture

Environment is perfect 25-27 Celcius constant
Humidity is 45%

20 Celsius lights out humidty goes up to 50-60

Rookies learn by the sword I guess ha

Whats PH is that a new nutrient line hahahahahaha.i use ph perfect sensi nutes never checked the ph ever even the first ten days water was just ph.7.4 tap water

Hi @Joeypuskin , So I read a bit on rock wool, and found this page. Thought it might help some. http://scienceinhydroponics.com/201...ia-and-bacteria-affect-ph-in-hydroponics.html From what I have read so far (that link and other threads), it just looks like RW can have a swinging pH. There is a tip in the above link on helping it not swing really high. I'm not 100% sure how accurate it is, but it seems to make sense.

Are you using a pH pen, or the papers? If a pen, have you calibrated it?
My first pen, I had no clue, and just used it. Well it was off by 1 whole point, the plants didn't like that very much. :face:

Yeh pen @fugzy calibrated to 7 also have a ec/ppm blue lab truncheon.

I'll have a look mate cheers and personally I think I used a too big cube to start but I'll give them to the 3 week mark to see if I notice any major diff
