Hey this would be my first post and also will my first ever grow ... im very new to this and would just like some pro input before i dive head first into all this ... :)

I have done lot of reading on threads but not really found anything to answer my questions ..i have been looking at buying a 300w led grow light to grow 2-4 auto flowering strains i have been looking to spend a max of about £100 on my light and was looking at these .. Screenshot (113).jpg

My grow will be in a modified wardrobe that i will be adding a carbon filter to also and would like to grow in air pots as they seem like a good thing to use ..
Screenshot (115).jpg would this size carbon filter be efficient for approximately a wardrobe thats 66inch high 45inch wide 20inch deep

Im fully open to any advise on all of this .. also would like some help on what strains a good for first timers and grow mediums ..

Thank you
Sam

Hello and welcome to AFN, sam! Drop by the introductions section and give an intro on yourself if you feel like it!

Here's a good article I found recently http://www.ledgrowlightshq.co.uk/led-grow-lights-what-to-look-for/

There's some good info on there. It's not everything you need to know but it'll get you started before some of the more experienced LED folks drop by.

Vipars are generally well received but a more in-depth look still won't hurt. Be very wary of cheap LEDs! Like too many others I learned this the hard way. :goodluck:

hi sam..with all respect for all other advices u might get imma give u mine..the llight is ok..both are ok.the filter is also good as u hv a limited space..but considering ur height of wardrobe i will recomend 4 16l pots. strains: i always recomend northernlights auto..they dont grow big and they give nice yeild..maybe perfect for ur grow spot. mediums: try bio bizz all mix soil together with 30 or 40 % regular soil. that way u can save some money on grow nutes..thats what i can say dude..succes

Hii cali man thanks for the input i have been looking at northernlights from royal queen seeds but also been looking at dutch-passion seeds ... and also was looking a canna coco mix .? But my main concern is would a 300w led be good enough for 4 plants in that space .?

Thanks sam

Haha cheers dude :) going take that as all good then

2 would be better bro. With one light You could rock 4 small plants in a gallon pot or so but if you want a decent size plants in 2-3 gallon pots you will need more light. If you want to go 4 you'll need two lights. You want about 75-100w per plant seeing as the 300w only draws about 180w you'll need 2 lights to grow 4 decent sized autos:d5:

Thank you ... i dont think at the moment i could stretch the cost of two light .. but what if i added some cfl's? or on the other hand could i start them of under one for first 2-3 weeks then add a second panel ..?

i dont understand why a led is sold for such less money then it suposed to b sold..usually a 300 w replaces a 600w hps in but not in heat..thats why the most important thing u will have to remember is that with led lights u always give 60% less water then as with an hps..keep that in mind bro..so u dont drown ur babes.cus led dont give heat
