Hi all,

I have three auto-flower plants in one grow tent (DWC). It's looking like one plant may be ready to harvest before the other plants are ready.

The problem I have is, I only have one grow tent so I have two questions:

1.) On auto-flowers, can I harvest one cola that may be ready before lower cola's? I'm worried about possible stress to rest of plant.

2.) How would I be able to harvest one plant or one cola when I only have the one grow tent? In other words, nowhere to hang branches to dry.

Any help would be appreciated, first time.

Thank you,

ChaoticGood

Pictures would help. Not sure why three plants would cause a stir. I carry 4 plants in one tent, they all get cut at different times. So what am I missing? Thanks.

Thank you Nabzter and mi1lertm.

It's not the number of plant mi1tertm, it's the different harvesting times that's causing a stir, as well as its the fact that it's my first time.

I was going to hang branches to dry but I don't have anywhere (where I can control the environment) to hang them since the plants that are not ready will be in the grow tent.

The second issue is concern that cutting some flowers will stress the remaining flowers resulting in stress to plant (again, may be a first time grower concern that's a bunch of bat doo-doo)

Nabzter clarified that brown bags can be used, which is helpful. Would brown bags control odor and would taking finished flowers and leaving lower flowers to mature cause stress to the plant? These are auto-flower strains.

Here is a thread where I dried my harvest using a large paper lawn/leaf bag ... if your area rh is less than 55% this would work for you ... if you don't know your actual rh , don't guess, get a quality $20+ hygrometer to assist your cure .... rh can be different indoors and out and from room to room .... nice looking plants ... look about 4-5 weeks from ready ... my goal is 10 days from harvest to low to mid 60's rh ... no sooner ...

The smell could still be an issue when drying in paper bags. There's a few good threads on here about drying in paper bags

Thanks Nabzter, I'll have to check on your grow and bag smell.

Thanks Chester for the words of encouragement.

Wow, 4-5 weeks out! And I thought I was a week away. I'll be checking the flowers with a microscope this weekend so we shall see.

Strange, seeds popped their heads on 6/8 and I turned on Bloom switch on 7/12 which means these are 90 day auto's (or it could be that I kept the Vegetation switch "on" the first week I turned the Bloom switch to on).

at least 4-5 weeks ... lotta growers harvest in stages .... closer bud pics could get timing a little closer ... nice healthy looking plants ... are you feeding bloom nutes ?

I may have to harvest a little sooner (unfortunately).

I'm going to try and take pictures of flowers later tonight.

Yes, bloom nutrients since change to Bloom lights with supplements of Advanced Nutrients Big Bud, Bud Candy and more recently, Overdrive.

One thing I know is, next time, I will make things much simpler (waaaay to much confusion for new growers with all of the suggestions out there on the forums)

Thanks again.

Like most of the others have said, these plants are weeks from harvest. They are no where near ready to harvest. Not even the main colas are ready on most of the plants. Just be patient unless you have to harvest for some emergency reason.

paper bags are your best bet to dry in when they are ready. You can always hang them in the upper side of your tent above the lights, just remember that heat travels up and you may have to check them sooner than normal unless your extraction method is also hung at the top of the tent like most do.

Most of the time i take plants in stages but i also have the room to allow them to mature all the way before i take them. If the tops are done before the bottoms i will take the tops of the plants and the only thing that it does is allow the bottoms to take the energy that they need, I have never seen it stress the plant in a bad way. It usually allows the bottoms to get the light that they need to finish properly.

Get us some closer pics of the plants to let us see what you are working with there and well help you out. Its exciting to grow this plant and the reward oof growing your own ganja is amazing. Just dont ruin it for your self and take them too early or youll be missing out on potential weight as well as potency
