New Grower Help with some cabinet questions

I wanna build a new cabinet. Can anyone give me measurements of a cab, width, depth, Height??? Good to put 4 plants, into however big smart
pot I can go, 2,3,4 gallon???? under a 400 watt hps and 12 cfl's for side lighting

Hey gardener

I used to grow in a three door wardrobe using just a 400w HPS and in there I used to grow 6 plants in 2 gallon pots. This worked very well but I had to do a lot of work to control the heat generated by the light(before the cooltube fittings were around)

What size plants are you thinking of growing? If you are going for something lowryder2 size 2 gallon pots are fine but with superautos you will need at least a 3 gallon pot.

Also some strains will spread out quite a bit and others will grow with a single Cola.
These are all things to take into account when designing your new cabinet

One thing I can say for sure is unless you are growing only dwarf plants you will need a minimum height of 1.5 meters to accommodate the plants, pots, and give the light room

I want big yielders, was thinking as big a pot that I can get away with growing say 4 plants. What size pot can I do that with?????? Want to go as big as I can go.

I'm looking for a strain that is potent and is a good yielder, any Ideas of a strain????

As far as the cab, would I have to build it 4x4x7ft high? Or should I go wider with a 400 HPS???

My last cab was this side and I was always battling high temps

Im hoping for 4 monsters, instead of 6 smaller ones.

I see alot are using those super root pots to grow, how many ltr super root pot is 3 gallons?????

Can someone suggest a good yielder with some high THC counts???????

1. Size - if you have the space and materials go bigger. Maybe 4 x 6 x 7. It will help with heat
Also if you haven't got one already get a cooltube fitting for your light as this will help eliminate some heat at the source.

2. Pots - if you can go with superroots airpots as in my experience these give the best results. Smart pots are the next best thing if you can't.
It's roughly 4litres to a gallon so 3 gallon would be 12 litre, but if you have the space go for 15 litre pots and super autos to get MONSTERS

3. Strains - so far the biggest yeilders I have tried with good power are think different by Dutch passion, chaze by flash, and Afghan express by positronics.
Another big plant that I have just ordered is auto extreme which is a collaboration by dinafem and Dutch passion, but I haven't tried these yet so I can't comment on power

I was thinking of going with 4-3gal smart pots under a 400 with THINK DIERENT. I'm ordering 21 Think different beans. Wanna grow big plants? Any suggestions???

a 400w hps will only cover 3x3 feet, not 4x6. You should not be increasing the size of the cab to help deal with heat, you should be working out ventilation. It sounds like you should do some more reading up about growing and building cabs. Not trying to be a jerk, it just sounds like you don't have a solid grasp on what you're doing and it could lead to problems. What are you going to do for ventilation? how are you going to control the smell?

Just remember with lights that cfls have to be really close to the plants while you will need the HPS to be futher up and you dont want the cfls to block any of the HPS light as it is more powerful.

The real answer on cab size is to build as big and tall as you space allows. Not having enough room or height later on is a real drag. If you are growing bigger strains you will need 18" to 24" square per plant and need to account for the pot height, plant height and space between light and plant in your over plant for how tall your box will be.
