New Grower hi everybody im new to this is going to be my first try please help any advise or tips would be glad

Putting a 600w HID in a 6x2.5 closet is going to generate some serious heat. You'll need to get cool air in there and route the hot air out. Do you have a window nearby or can you vent to the attic? As for carbon filters, my take is that if you are serious about growing over the long term, go ahead and get one. I did the DIY route and it was OK for a small scale grow, but it's never going to do the job of a dedicated filter. Even if you are a legal grower, there's no point in possibly attracting attention you don't need. Not to mention you can get a decent entry level filter on Amazon for under $40, so it's not that expensive.

A tent will be very expensive compared to lining your walls with mylar or similar.
Five plants would be a max in that space IMHO.
Good advice from CocoLopez, DIY should suffice re filters. I grew Trans Siberian also and it was quite low odour. And a very strong strain!!! eP.

a bit off topic but i had to mention it, this is the best nugget of information/help that i have read for a while.

AndyBotwin:Some first timers hit it out of the park, and others struggle a lot. Most are somewhere in the middle. Look at it as going to cannabis school with some nice bud as the diploma at the end. As you gain experience and soak up advice from your fellow AFNers, you'll see your grows get better and better. Enjoy the ride!

my grow space is going to be a closet 6x3 and around 9 feet in height ..humidity is around 60 outside not sure inside . temperature around 50 to 70 i got 3 small fans for airflow and no odor control .. can you explain to me how to feed how many times which days when to start in what week and when to stop to start flushing and how would i noe the right amount so i wont over feed or over water .

It's not an exact science so you have to be flexible and see how your plants respond to food, water and everything else. That's where a journal will serve you well. Once we see your plants and have all the info about your nutes, it will be easier to help get you on track with a feeding schedule.

I think the best method for watering is by weight. Water a pot until you get runoff from the bottom and compare it to the same pot with dry soil. Over time you'll be able to tell when your pot is light enough to need more water. Generally speaking, new growers tend to overwater, so when in doubt give it another day.

Trust me, there will be plenty of time to get all the issues like feeding and watering sorted out. Like I said before, you should be focusing on your environment right now. Get your closet set up with all your gear and do a test run for a few days before germing your seeds. You don't want to have delicate seedlings in there and find out things are running way too hot, dry, etc.

ok so far all i need is the seeds to be delivered i got the mylak roll i think thats the name 2 bags of 2 cu fox farm happy frog 5 buckets 5 gallon a ph meter 3 lil fans and 600 watt apollo hps light .. you said ill be good with just that for around 3 weeks right then what should i buy

Hello and welcome. I have been growing for about two years and I am still buying stuff, it never ends. Can you vent the air out of the closet up into the attic or outside? Moving the air around is good but you must remove and replace the air in the grow space. An in-line duct fan (4-6in) and carbon filter can take the old air out and bring new air in and you can use felx duct to take the filtered air away, oder free. LEDs would solve most heat issues but they cost. Your soil may be too hot for seedlings, a cup full of light warrior in the center of your pot will solve that. Take your time now before you plant and you can avoid some problems. Good luck and good karma.

hey guys srry for taking so long i finally received everything except the seeds so far i have 5 5 gallon fabric pots with a 600 w apollo ups , organic nutrients sample pack i here thats good enough and i got a carbon filter with a 6 inch fan its huge i didn't know it was gonna be that big and 25 feet of mylar and a ph up and down hope that is good I'm running out of moneY and i hope my seeds get here safely i here they are getting confiscated
