This is all that’s left of the smaller Stone Dragon couldn’t control the bud rot. I was a bit aggressive on how much I cut/tossed out. These buds appear to be clean, am I cool keeping them? Washed them aggressively in water with baking soda and lemon juice.

So, now I’m paranoid because I know nothing about dealing with bud rot. This plant was in the same pot with another one and always in close proximity to the Bloodstone. Is there a possibility of bud rot spreading to other plants?

A bud rotting plant in the same tent will add even more mold spores to the air than what's already in the air (which is a lot), incrementally increasing risk. But the air normally contains a good amount of mold spores; and more importantly it's persistent moisture/wetness of plant tissues that allows mold/fungi to get established and progress to rot.

If you can't get humidity and temperature in a good range, at least have very good air circulation within the tent so any excess moisture on exposed surfaces evaporates quicker, which will considerably reduce the likelihood of outright rotting.

Possibly, but not definitely…. Watch closely, look within buds for rot….you can usually also see it from the outside of the buds, but not always…..

If outdoors, then a nearby plant rotting will have negligible effect on the risk/likelihood of nearby plants rotting. Moisture/wetness of the plant tissues, particularly where exposed to air (mold spores) and/or excess wetness or even related anaerobic conditions of internal tissues, is the primary factor involved in mold getting established and progressing to rotting. The plant being unhealthy, stressed will also increase risk/likelihood of mold/rot.

Thanks guys! With the persistent humidity and heat, I decided to chop, trim and wash the rest at day 69. I’ve learned that I need to be patient if I continue to grow outside and start later to avoid some of the oppressive stress these plants endured! The struggle continues with the dry, crawl space temp and humidity is mid 70s, a late fall harvest would allow much better drying conditions.

I’ve learned that I need to be patient if I continue to grow outside and start later to avoid some of the oppressive stress these plants endured! The struggle continues with the dry, crawl space temp and humidity is mid 70s, a late fall harvest would allow much better drying conditions.

I’ve seen some people place a fan in front of their outdoor plants to deal with humidity…. That may be a viable option for the future….

Absolutely! I did that some but got lazy swapping the batteries out out my portable fan, they weren’t close enough to an outlet during the day. I think if I time a grow to go into flower around this time of year they’ll have a much better chance of success.

Maybe use a solar rechargeable battery system?
