I'm new to this whole world of growing and decided to start off with some autos.

1 White Widow and 1 LowRyder to kick things off. My plan was to make this as effortless as possible to see what kind of harvest I could get. So far I'm about 9 weeks in and things are looking pretty darn good.

I started both inside under a 6500k CFL in 3" starter pots with a 18/6 light cycle. 21 days in I repotted into 2 gallons, and put them both under standard fluorescents (1 6500k and 1 3100k). A little bit of nutes a week later, and the WW got moved into my greenhouse. The LowRyder moved out there a week after that.

I've only given them nutes two times since then, mostly just keeping them watered and letting nature do its thing. The LowRyder has gotten crazy tall (over 27" now), despite the reports of them not usually getting more than 16". The WW is looking nice and sticky and I'm guessing will be harvested in a week or so, while the LowRyder flowers just keep getting bigger and fatter.

I think I'll be more than happy with the harvest considering the amount of work I've put in, and that was the whole plan. Simple, simple, simple, and let them do their thing. I'm keeping notes on the grow but didn't really think that my first attempt was worth keeping a journal on here. Maybe I'll document the next one with pics here on AFN.

I've got a couple more autos germinating now, a Northern Lights and a Super Skunk. Next stop will be some non-autos outside, maybe in a hoop house or cold frame type structure just to keep them protected from unexpected cold nights.

All in all this is pretty damn fun, and it's always exciting when I check on them and see noticeable growth on a daily basis. These plants are amazing! BTW, my avatar pic is one of the big leaves on the LowRyder that I snapped about 2 weeks ago and it's sitting directly on my hand. Crazy big!

Hey Sturgex, sounds good what you've got going. Welcome to the forum :styles rasta:

Sturgex,

Got any pictures? Sounds like you did very well for a first go. I would have perhaps used more ferts, but I like your keep it simple attitude. Welcome.

Here's some recent pics. Both plants were kinda tall and lanky when I moved them to the greenhouse.

Welcome aboard, Sturgex :) Wow! For a minimalist grow, they look great! That middle pic of the LR is Gorgeous! How big is your greenhouse? We were thining of putting up a DIY GH this year, just a 6x6x8 footer..

Thanks all!

Here's a top down pic of the WW

The greenhouse is 6x6x10. It was fairly simple to put up, 2 people got it done in one day plus another day up front to lay the concrete slab. The slab is optional, but the area of the yard it went in gets very wet (like standing water wet) so we opted for the pad. It's usually just got mostly orchids in it but thought we'd make some room for something a little more fun. :)

Welcome Sturgex , Glad to have you "AFN smoke out"..and some love for your pretty lady friend..:karma Cloud:
