Hey guys,
Planning a cupboard kinda grow and I was going to have a hps and cfl always going,
First of all i will be running a 125w hps using a plastic (clip on wall) socket, will it melt it?

And the closet thing is a normal door wide and high and maybe 1 1/2 - 2ft to the back,
Are fans essential?

Cheers

Not sure how hot it'll get but I have 4 - 24W T5 HO's running 24/7 with a PC fan currently at 78F in my cab, so I assume your 125HPS will be hotter. Fans would be a wise choice since they also stimulate air movement around/through the plant, my cab is 30x18x30 inches high

Plus it's also winter here and has been cold as fawk since I started my grow

:peace:

Hey yoshi. I did use a 150w hps before and yes sir i would make sure u have a fan on it at all times. They last longer and work better when they are cool. It will get fairly hot without a fan.

Gilly and Cultivator are right on. HPs lights getting very hot!

Happy growing!

Thanks everyone, I'll just stick to CFLs I just bought 3 24w 1450l 6500k, I couldn't find any small desk like fans there so i just went with them for now

It's been 50 in my grow room and with my 400W HPS on temperatures in my tent climb to 75-85. When I get cold I unzip the tent and bask in the HPS light. I'm usually baked when I do this and tend to nod off in my chair in front of the tent. lol

Hahaha hmm maybe I need to rethink to hps for basking when I get cold
