Hi, I have a bag of Biobizz Light Mix that I bought last summer, it's been sitting in a warm environment with humidity over 70% and now it smells funky. How can I treat the soil before using it? Is there a way to get rid of mold spores and fungus gnat larvae, without killing the beneficial microbes? Or should I just buy a new bag?

Recharge and Botanicare HydroGuard for the anaerobic microbes that make that sour smell. Mosquito bits/dunks for the Fungus Gnats. These are all products you should have on the shelf for soil growing. So It may sound cheaper to get new soil until you need these products for the new soil :crying:

Mold spores are persistent in the environment - ever present. The way to deal with potential molds is moisture control.

You are an amazingly helpful person. Thanks for pointing me toward the Earthbox in my introduction thread. I'm getting close to popping a seed.
