Live Stoner Chat I beseech your wisdom!!!

Welcome, I like the kush and indica strains. High thc does similar things to me. High cbd strains in autos.....hum, try some blue shark. I hear its good. I real real enjoyed G13 labs Ak.
Some og dragon strains could be helpful.

What about Northern Lights? Oldster(thanks) provided a link to a seed bank and autoberry and Northern Lights both caught my eye. They both seem to have what I'm looking for and are classified as easy to grow. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I didn't see and dragons on that site. Would someone point me in the right direction for those.
Thanks!

Welcome to AFN! Another newbie here so im not sure if i posted yet or not. I went with autoflowers because of the high cbd/cbn content. I'm hoping to get some major pain relief from injuries i sustained. I hope you enjoy the warm welcome, I have been thoroughly impressed with the process and ease of communions that mods and knowledgeable growers make themselves available.

welcome Autoimmune. I see you too have discovered the awesome healing properties of cannabis. once you get in a cycle, you'll never have to do without again. I have been growing 2-3 plants at a time and always have a surplus on hand. goodluck with your grow, but you wont need it. you have the whole AFN to help you grow a successful batch of meds ;)

Thank you everyone for your warm welcome and advice. If all goes according to plan I will have plenty of meds in a couple of months. In the mean time, I'm sure I'll have plenty questions. Thanks again to everyone.

Hello to all, I am very glad I found this place. It took me 4 times to get the registration done because I didn't know the answers to the random question. As if I needed more validation that I'm not in Kansas anymore:slaps:

This is a long read so please stay with me, I have been through a lot and am in need of good advice, wisdom, and direction.

After the birth of my son I just never felt right again. I was constantly tired and was having trouble with anxiety/depression,weight gain, and loss of libido. I shrugged it all off to being a busy wife, mother, and career woman. This went on for years until eventually my hair began to fall out, my skin became very dry and itchy, my teeth became loose, I started having sensitivity to light, strange cognitive issues such as calling a horse a cow, a toilet a bathtub, and loss of short term memory.

I was finally diagnosed with postpartum Hashimotos. My son was 8 by that time..... but whatever.....so I was put on Synthroid and many of my bizarre symptoms vanished. What stayed behind though was the anxiety/ depression, fatigue, and foggy feeling that I just lived with. I also suffer from anemia, hyperlipidemia, and restless leg syndrome.

So now for the good part! My niece ( a married adult not a teenager) started smoking pot and when I would go visit her I would smoke with her. Wow! How things have changed in 20+ years since I smoked! That was just a few times, but when she came to visit me recently she left me her stash for use when she comes to visit.

One morning I decided that my day would be a whole lot more fun if I smoked a little that morning with my coffee. I'm home during the day so don't have to go out and function in the world, so why not? Well I enjoyed it so much I started the next few days like that. It was probably the third day that I suspected that it was not only fun but I felt better in general. Late into the evening long after my morning buzz was gone I felt happy, full of energy, anxiety/ depression was completely gone, I slept great.....in general I felt like my old self. I was even horney!! That's sadly something that hasn't happened in years.

My husband and I did some digging around on the internet and found some research linking THC to autoimmune disorders. It all takes place in your DNA, but from our understanding THC suppresses the excess of micro RNA so that the thyroid is able to function normally. Of course, there is a lot more research to be done in this, but all I know is that of all the medications I take not one of them improves my symptoms and sense of well being....but pot does.

I don't live in a state where medical marijuana is available so I'm stuck buying from college students which is less than ideal, so I would like to grow my own.

I have no idea what I'm doing and really don't want to be arrested. There is so much information out there that I have become overwhelmed. So I was hoping you fine people will take pity on me and hold my hand through this process....keep in mind you are going to have to spell it out for me since I don't know what most of you are talking about :)

First question: will I get arrested buying seeds online?

Thank you all in advance for your time.
Welcome,
I know I've caught this late and we have been talking already. Hey, I found you using this damn phone app Hahaha. Your story is very interesting as I almost have the same symptoms. I've always had a thyroid issue but only when I was pregnant. Once my baby was born it would go back to normal. For some odd reason my last an third child it did not go away. I got the hyperthyroid. Whatever it's called. Anyways I've put on 35-40 lbs and climbing and I barely eat. No appetite. My memory is all messed up. Driving home, I'll pass my house an won't realize it until I don't know 5-10 miles down the road. Memory is a big problem. Its like I black out an then come back to reality an can't remember shit. Your story got me wondering if I got the same thing. I won't drive or go anywhere alone. Sex drive completely gone. No energy for nothing. Anxiety depression thru the roof. I hate the thought of going out. Anyways, I had a cat scan come back my thyroid is enlarged so now I got to get a sonogram/ultrasound done. Needless to say. I was a huge stoner before I had my kids. When I found out I was pregnant with baby 1 I stopped. I tried a year ago to smoke an I got so stoned of the shitest weed. "Regs" I was the laughing joke for a long time. But my body changed. I was paranoid an my anxiety increased an my stomach was twirling. I just had to lay down. I fell asleep and the next day felt groggy, exhausted an lazy. I never smoke since then. I'm almost afraid to. I wish I could and be normal again. I don't even take my pills, I hate that crap. But synthroid wrong spelling I need to get regulated. I'm just rambling now. I'm glad your well. Maybe one day I'll get there. Your plants look great.

Happy growing

It has been a real pleasure to meet so many great people here!

I'm sorry Honey! I know exactly how you feel. I would suggest if your Dr. hasn't already run a thyroid profile on you including anti bodies then I would demand it right now. I would also have him check you for anemia too. As far as the relationship between cannabis and thyroid, not much is known. There simply hasn't been enough research to explain what I have experienced. The only thing I have found is a study done on rats that explained the response of micro RNA and thyroid disease.

In a nut shell your thyroid makes all the messages for your body and the micro RNAs are responsible for carrying these messages. But because of the inflammation that takes place within the thyroid the micro RNA gets bound up are just sit there trapped. This means that even if your thyroid is function properly it doesn't make any difference because the hormones are unable to leave the thyroid gland. All autoimmune diseases have an inflammatory process associated with them, and cannabis is an effective anti inflammatory. That is one of the reason it works so well in pain relief for muscular skeletal problems. What I could never understand is why with the thyroid supplement I still felt like total shit. My Dr. would run my levels and they were within therapeutic range but the numbers never matched up with how I was feeling. So the micro RNA theory makes perfect sense to me. So many strange symptoms just vanished not to mention I've lost 45 lbs magically. It was a nice change to eat and loose weight rather than not eat and gain weight. My body is much more balanced and I just feel almost back to normal.

BUT!! if you are like me, and have an anxiety disorder then cannabis could have a negative effect on your mind. Be careful what strains you use and how often. I chose the strains I did because they have a good balance of THC/CBD and a lower THC level. I also think that small doses every other day helps keep everything balanced. I stopped for 3 months and it was about a month before some of my symptoms returned. So it seems that cannabis has a long term effect. Deep breathing exercises and Yoga also help tremendously. It might take some trial and error to find what works best for you, but with some patience you will find your sweet spot. Hang in there! You can always PM me if you want to talk privately. I am happy to help in anyway I can. :bighug:

@Bailey I don't know too much about Graves, but it seems to me that because it is also and autoimmune disorder that cannabis would have a therapeutic effect as well.
