Live Stoner Chat I beseech your wisdom!!!

welcome to the best canna site on the web! We have a great med section, one of the best and ran, by our very own Root66 and Eekman! Both very knowledgeable and friendly folks! Need anything, let us know!

Thank you everyone for your welcomes and advice. This is all very overwhelming and everyone's encouragement is greatly appreciated.

I am thinking of starting a blog/journal to record this journey I am about to embark on. I really feel that my experience and what I learn can help others. I know I wish I had been told there is relief available and what it will take to obtain it if your area doesn't offer medicinal plants. Im going to discuss this with my Dr (if only to see the look on his face  ) and see if he has any suggestions? I would be surprised if I'm the only patient who has discovered this.

Hi Autoi, let me add my welcome to AFN. I am in the US myself and not in a legal state so same boat as you.

I got a very nice well ventilated 6 bulb T8 fixture at Home Depot for $80. Provides great coverage of a 24" x 48" area and the ventilated reflector allows placement within an inch of plant tops. The six bulbs allow you to blend your light spectrum based on what phase your plants are in

I get seeds from Canada as I feel the mail traffic between the 2 countries makes it easier for shipments to blend in
I have had good success with http://www.mjseedscanada.com/, their Auto Berry is a great producer. I would start with a mostly Sativa and a mostly Indica hybrid and see what works best for you. You may find the mostly Sativa better for daytime and mostly Indica better for sleep but everyone is different in how they react.

Mrs. Oldster is on Synthroid and anti-depressant just as an FYI. I would suggest you check out the Positive pH thread in our medical section and see if you fall into the low body pH category. Just fixing that issue may well help with some of your depression symptoms.

Reach out if I can be of any help
a 6 bulb t8 seems a little light for an 8 sq foot grow area. only 16800 lumens (2100lumens per sq ft) but I like the ideal of using a Canadian seed bank to reduce problems with customs. I am sure that light will grow plants in that area but growth will be slow and yield will be a little low. home depot actually runs these levels in their indoor nursery in my area and the tropical plants in there look good but they do get some indirect sunlight as well.

WHAT!!! That is way more than I thought it would yield. Ok, so I need to only grow one plant of each type to try. I can give the college students my cast offs.

Don't give your medicine away, in fact save the extra in your freezer. Don't let ANYONE know you are growing. You need to be careful not to draw attention to yourself. If one of those kids gets caught with the stuff you gave them, dont think they wont tell, because they will.

Once you are more comfortable you can use it to make foods, oils, and tinctures that will help your symptoms immensely. dont throw your leaves away either, they are awesome for juicing, and eating as salad. There are Plenty of videos on Youtube that explain how to do this.

The less you throw away, the less likely you will be noticed. remember, once it hits the trash, it becomes public domain.

You can burn your stems, or even use them to develop soil. No trace, means No Trouble.

Hi Maurice, all I can say is it has worked nicely for me, in fact I found I needed to make sure it was not too close because I was not getting enough stretch in my plants

Hey and Welcome!
I am glad you found us. Please do start that journal. I found that journaling really helped me get my head straight and keep myself organised. Not to mention how supportive everyone here was while I did it.
I'd love to go somewhere and try some other strains! What a lot of fun that would be, I say go for it. All I have been able to use is what I have grown, I don't have any other source. I am kinda curious what other folks tastes like and how it measures up to mine.
Please keep us informed of your progress, ask any and many questions, and most importantly have fun and feel better!!
Peace and Happy Growing.

Hi Autoimmune...Welcome to AFN!

As you can see, we are a very friendly forum and we Love to help!

When you get a chance...spend some time in our [h=2]General Medical Discussion.[/h]

Even tho we are a cannabis forum, we also look at other (non canna) treatments for various ailments. It's all about sharing.
I, as well as most on here, share your enthusiasm and amazement of this wonderful plant...see my incredible healing https://www.autoflower.org/f80/cannabis-salve-healing-14705.html

It is very rewarding to grow and process your own medicine...especially since it works!

Enjoy

I am happy to hear it is working for you.always love to see someone challenging conventional wisdom.

Hello again! Its been awhile and I feel I've come full circle. I originally decided to just stick with buying my medicine. Unfortunatly, that is unpredictable and I have no control over what I'm getting. I have also wasted a lot of time trying to grow seeds I have found, and have failed with both tries. The first go round I just didn't have the right equipment. The second time I invested in the right set up and I grew beautiful lush plants that all turned out to be males( traitors!!). As much as I have enjoyed growing it would be really nice to actually produce something. After trial and error I've found that a strain higher in CBD works very well for me. The high THC strains aren't good for my anxiety so I would appreciate suggestions on strains that meet that critera.
