Hello,

Intro

I'm a new grower, but my roommate has pretty decent experience growing indoors so I'm sure we'll do just fine! We purchased the following Seeds:

Seeds To be Grown Within Next 6 Months
---------
Auto Bomb - Bomb Seeds
Auto Diesel
Auto Purple Cheese
Auto Speed Devil #2 (x3)
Auto Onyx
Skunk 1 - G13 Labs
Auto Magnum - Buddha Seeds
---------

Location - Setup

We have a small bathroom - it's rather small, one window which is broken since my hand found it's way through it resulting in stitches lol So we have that covered with a plastic bag.

A Big cardboard box was laying on the side of the road - we took it - wrapped aluminium foil all around and hanged set it inside the bathroom standing upright about 4 feet tall.

Equipment

We have 2 x T8 Grow Bulbs 18W each (The salesman told us they were going to be higher wattage so I'm not sure if these will do, we were disappointed to see the low wattage). But we plan to add a few CFL's around 160WATT each around the side of the box.

Current Status:

1 x Purple Cheese and 2 x Speed Devil #2 Germinating in a small bowl - in some cotton with some water in there - sealed tight with plastic wrap above with some holes on the top. It's been around 20 hrs for the Speed Devil's - and 5hrs for the Purple Cheese. Can't wait till the little tail peeps out and we can plant these babies!

I've added some pics so you have an idea what's going on.

I will keep this Thread as a Journal to the progress of the First 3 Plants - As were new to Autoflowers completely, we would love all the support and feedback we can get, very much appreciated! :D

um id be wherry of using a cardboard box as a mcGyver grow tent, remember it could catch fire after a period of time especially running t5 or CFL, it wont be instant. it would be slow and cook the paper and raise temp of the paper then lil smoke and boom you got a fire:hot:, IMHO (numerous arson courses over the years and what ive seen)

and dump that foil your not cooking, and get some Mylar its cheap as hell at any sporting goods store(thermal blankets)
alum foil wasnt made to deflect heat it was made to absorb it on top of hot spots, and it WILL transfer to the cardboard and risk of fire increased.

forgot to mention: dont even get me started on the potential bacteria on that box that could transfer to you girls, AND after run off what? water goes in the cardboard and then you got mildew or even black mold MM from you girls

better to cough up the coin/Quid(sp?) now and it pay it self off in the long run(6m-1+year depend how often you grow),(not saying buy a 200Euro tent.)

not trying to be a prick mate, just trying to help out a fellow greenthumb and save you some hassle down the road. dont forget your odor control aswell

-The Space Pope and Welcome to AFN!!
:wiz::bow:

as others have said ditch the cardboard box and tinfoil a small spare closet with white walls will work better, and i can tell you from my purple cheese that you need to get odor control i have my 2 purple cheeses outside about 1000 ft from my house and if the wind blows right i can smell them inside my house with the windows open.

What do I do for odour control? I'm not usually too worried about the smell, considering were smoking in the house all the time and on the balcony which is on main road - how much worse could it get?

It will stink 24/7 and the only way is filtering your grow space with carbon

In my opinion and my experience a carbon filter should be the first thing a grower should get in place, they are magical pieces of equipment!
I couldn't / wouldn't grow indoors without one
