New Grower ILGM Northern Lights & Amnesia Haze

Day 80, the Amnesia Haze is still a beast but a good 2 to 3 weeks behind the Northern Lights.
My Northern Lights is getting closer. I wanna say a week and a half...maybe 2 more weeks. Her colas are growing everyday and she's drinking less water. Here's a good few trich pics from a few different colas

Harvest day for my Northern Lights, so exciting...until I'm like 3 hours in and still have like half the plant left to trim. But man she smells good, very sweet scent. Decided to use the brown bag drying method because my other plant isn't ready. My wife used to trim and told me shit goes everywhere, hence the tent in the back ground. Little did we realize that wet trimming is super clean so the tent got scrapped really quick.

Grow tent update. Day 87. Partially harvested the Northern Lights. Sort of as an experiment and also out of fear of harvesting a little too early for an indica dominant strain. The Amnesia Haze is doing well, her flowers are really starting to get frosty and are very pretty. She is still a beast. Now realizing how long trimming takes, I'm going to have to free up a couple days to trim this plant. Will probably hang dry half of it and brown bag half of it as another experiment.

I finished harvesting the rest of the Northern Lights. I also jarred and weighed the half of the plant I had already trimmed. It's been in a paper bag for 5 days now. The picture was taken like 10 minutes after jarring so the humidity will more than likely rise. I may lose a little weight too if my buds are still too wet. But happy with the 52g for it just being half the plant. Some of the Amnesia Haze flowers are now too heavy for their branches...a plant issue that I'm happy about but she is closer to harvest then I originally thought. Half clear half cloudy rn (will harvest for sativa effects). So the flush has begun. In the 2 hours it took me post this the humidity in the jar is now 58%.

Wanted to post a couple pictures of the dried (still curing) Northern Lights. We smoked a joint of it last night, first homegrown joint ever and I have to say it was surprisingly smooth for only being jarred 1 day.

First, as the stoner I am, I forgot to take out the hygrometer (~20g) when I weighed the NL. So my numbers will drop.
Second, I decided to partially harvest the Amnesia Haze. Since it's my first grow I figured I'd like to try out different ratios of trichomes. Just harvested 2 brown bags worth with about 5% Amber.

So I caught covid...blah. Symptoms haven't been too bad other than a wicked sore throat. But I've had all this extra time so I decided to gather some kief from my NL trim. I ended up with over a gram of kief. Pressed 0.7g of kief in a 50 micron bag in my cheap hair straightener set on 190° F for the first press and 220° F for the second press. Got 0.21g of fresh pressed rosin. Now I just have to wait till I feel better to smoke it
