Hello everyone, thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.

I've been lurking on the site for a couple of weeks doing some research in preparation for my first grow. I've gathered all my materials and hope to start growing at some point next week. I thought it would be a good idea to join the forum and hopefully get some feedback/advice on my very first grow as it progresses. I don't need a whole lot of weed. Two ounces would probably do me for twelve months. Hoping to achieve this in one grow.

Completely fed up with the black market. Shit product, shittier people. Plus it would be nice to actually choose which strains I smoke. I'm curious to know what other people's incentives are for growing their own?

Anyway, love the site - so much information!

incentives for growing own.weed no selection way overpriced.hash no selection shit quality poor price.shitheads i have to deal with.
dont be surprized if you consumption doubles when growing your own,as your appreciation of smells/tastes and effects of decent canna is at your fingertips for the first time.but hey ho not the end of the world is it.
have a good look around,if you get stuck or need pointing in the right direction pop into live stoners.

What up? Grow for the best bud in town. Hands down. Some Sour Stomper from Mephisto was the first run we sold, and I had a DOZEN people say it was the best weed they had EVER seen. That's why. Also mad eighths x $50 a pop = at least $$$. Some quick cash, and smoking the finest weed in the city. That's why I grow. What ya working with? Genetics, Lights, Pots, Medium, Noooots, Space, Water? That's what we all love is seeing and hearing about gear. I'm the same way with guitar too..It's all about the kit...lol. Good luck, and DONT OVER WATER!!!!!!

@Dr.Bubbles My equipment is.. 300w Viparspectra led. 15ltr airpot. Canna Terra Pro+, terra vega/flores nutrients (came with the soil, lol). Actual grow space itself is a 40x40x120cm grow tent. I would've liked something a bit bigger, but I'm really limited on space at the moment. It seems big enough for one plant, but with the light, pot and filter etc inside it looks as though height may be an issue. So I'm planning to do some LST.

With this being my first grow though, I wanna keep things as simple as I can. One plant, bosh.

I Grow for meds, anxiety and ptsd (ex military) I was on meds from the doc, but those dang xanexs get me in trouble (a lot) with the better half. So switched and life (and Ms) are way better. My truck likes it too (less dents) lol

Swing by the dragon meds section and check out my micro grows...instead of growing larger strains you might want to consider down sizing pots and picking short stacked strains. For my setup it was the way to pull more bud per square foot and giver me more variety.
I know you want to keep it simple for the first run and totally understand that.

Hey @Blartspud and welcome to AFN.
Why I started growing, same as you really. Fed up for paying for it and what is grown in my area was just shit... grown with love (not by gangsters) but it just missed the mark... My first harvest knocked the socks of what was local and I bet yours does to.
