New Grower is it OK to give my 2 week old seedlings a dose of hydrogen peroxide to kill my fun gas gnats???

Hey mate,

Not really too sure about feeding a chemical of that sort to seedlings so young. Sending some Karma your way for your seedlings

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can have a definite answer.

I've only seen 3 of the little buggers flying around...so I've made it all out war!!!! Covered my pots with ladies tights and covered my soil with a inch of perlite hopefully that should do the trick but as a last resort I was Gunna give them some hydrogen peroxide .

if ur not living in the same area as ur grow then use hot shots no pest strips.just don't stay in there or have ur pets in there....ive used peroxide before for gnat larvae,5ml per gallon but being so young I would try 3ml and see what happens.my plants were about a month old and seemed to handle alright but I gave them a shot of fox farm boomerang also

My grow tents in my bedroom I'll give them a small dose of hydrogen peroxide tomorrow and see what happens

ive run hotshots all over my house including my bedroom , my pets are alive , including my lizard

not saying it "IS" safe , just giving my experience with them

also , they are not good for up to 4 months or whatever their claim is , flies land on and sit on mine safely only 2-3 days after being put up , they are very powerful for the first couple days though , so my advice to rid your plants of pests is to buy 3 and open them 3 days apart

If you only saw 3 so far maybe just the extra perlite and tights and hold off on the peroxide. Think the conservative route should work. Also let pot dry out real good. Even if she droops just a little for a day.

The solution to fungas gnats is BT. It's a bacteria harmless to everything except soft bodied insect larva. Just mix some mosquito dunks or a similar BT product in some decholrinated water and water your plants with it. Boom, gnats gone.

Please please please don't use hot shot strips. They are super poison bad time, for you or anyone else that smokes that pot.
