My first harvest is almost done and I'm curing in jars now. Anything that will be smoked or vaped will be cured for a few weeks.

But I also use edibles as in coco oil infusion that I use for sleeping and longer term medicating.

And I also really like ISO extract.

Is there any value in curing for either of these two?

i think if its proper dry then its ready for whatever process is next.
im not sure how thc/cbd's break down with age and convert into thca/cbn's or other cannabanoids.the medically bit aint my bag as im 97% eejit. @Root would have a much better insight that side of things.
good luck.

I don't know if there is any value other than reducing moisture and you don't want excess moisture in your products (makes them prone to mold faster and affects purging)
When you decarb, like for edibles you will reduce the moisture.
But with ISO you don't decarb...so I would say use cured buds for that.

@Root

But I can dry bud without curing. Drying takes a few days. Curing takes weeks and seems to be more about getting rid of chlorophyll in the taste when smoking than getting the correct moisture/dryness level. I'm not sure if I need to worry about chlorophyll when making ISO extract. If I do, then I should cure before making ISO. If not, then I can make ISO just after drying it.

It is a matter of personal taste and what you want to get out of your medicine.
In my opinion, yes. Many compounds undergo a transformation into new compounds during cure, only 1 of which is THC-CBN.

You can benefit from curing before making the night time infusion if your herb contains CBN. CBN is at least as sedative as diazepam. It is for this same reason that some folks like to harvest early, some late.

Then there is smell and taste of your extract....

Why not try one of each, and see how you like them?

I like using fresh material

I had planned to try making a live tincture- as soon as a cola is cut, it's dumped into alcohol. I am not sure if THCA will benefit my conditions, but I bet it is delicious!

I didn't for the reason stated above, I don't have any extra to play with this time

No cure is needed when making edibles.
I make them all the time without curing.
I even use a food dehydrator (105 F for 10 hours) to impatiently make small amounts of easy edibles the day of harvest.
After losing 75-80% of its wet weight, the herb is ready for decarb. Without drying first it probably won't decarb correctly due to all the water.
