Yo bro no worries on waiting on the clones o flip the light. I took 2 clones during flower, all white hairs and stuff , from the lowest part of my plant. It's no problem, slap them on 24hr light schedule and they will root and go back to veg. I've been lst'n too so there is tons of little side branches. I wasn't planning on cloning, but there were so many secondary shoots that needed to go I thought I'd try to clone a couple just for fun. What medium are you using for the cuttings?
First I tried rockwool, which I cut on 1/3/13 and they look great maybe even growing but no roots coming out off the rockwool yet, which is crazy! So those are still under the dome in some sort of stasis.
HOWEVER! After waiting over a week on the rockwool clones with no signs of roots, and more pruning to do; I took two more clones and decided that a homemade aero/bubble cloner might be better. Didn't want to spend any money so I went MacGyver and took an old plastic cookie jar, cut some holes in the top, used my baby air pump and stone I use for mini tea batches, and voilà! I was ready to go. I used liquid karma and RO, mixed at their recommended dose for cuttings, 15-20ml/gal. In the lid, it could be cut as a circle or any shape that you want, the idea being that a piece of foam, in my case some styrofoam, is put in the hole to support the cutting above the water. It's best to use something like a gardening pad type foam. Stiff but still squishy. They sell inserts at hydro stores but its easy to make them. Just cut a slit to the middle of the foam and put the cutting in so it's 1/2" above the water. My POS rig worked awesome I had roots within a week and they are in soil already. :dance2::dance2::dance2:
Anyway, good stuff man. I'm hoping my rockwool clones root, I'm gonna try a Lucas method, floranova bloom ONLY, in a 5 gallon hempy. Wondering about using coco instead of vermiculite. This will be my first outdoor grow!! :booya:
