Photoperiod Landrace! Morrocan Rif Moutain

Been doing some research because these plants look nothing like the Rif Mountain hash plants. I discovered through Strain Hunters that around the year 1995, someone brought in Pakistani genetics. Because of open pollination, there is now no pure landrace Rif Mountain, all are now hybrids of Pakistani and Afghani strains. From what I can gather, mine are the more Pakistani pheno type, where as Tobe's are more Riff Mountain.

Anyway, my guys and girls are looking great! Got to love organic soil!

I know the Strain Hunters video. Looks like you got some paki there. How do you judge my plant?
To me it looks Rif-like, with long stems without branching. The branching I have is due to FIM.

I'd say your look like the Rif pheno, Would be good to breed them with a Rif pheno male, maybe work the strain back to closer to the original!

Males are spilling pollen! I'm going to collect some today and dust a couple buds. I like cotton swabs as the hold the pollen well and it doesn't scatter easily. I dab them in pollen then place them in a ziplock bag and seal it to carry to the female's location. I spay any near by plants with water to kill stray pollen. I also spray all of the plant I'll pollinate except the selected buds, which I cover with a plastic bag as I'm spraying
I open the ziplock carefully very near the plant and remove a swab. I dab it gently on the flowers, and place it back in the bag. I'll tie a little piece of yarn near the pollinated buds to identify them.

ohh my, didn't realize I haven't updated!

Both plants are completely pollinated.......... guess I had a brain fart and forgot to wet the plants except for the buds I planned to pollinate..... so everything in the tent is totally knocked up.. That's ok! I'm chopping some buds early and I'll have a ton of seed to share.

Mold in the greenhouse has me chopping early so today will be busy. I'll get pics for this tomorrow.

BTW, I chopped a bud off yesterday and left it on the heat register overnight. It dried nicely and my lady and I sampled it. WOOOOooooo! Much more potent than I anticipated! Ohhhhhhhhhh and it has that orangey-chocolatey taste of black hash......haven't tasted this in 45 years! Many thanks to my friend who gifted me these seeds!

Definitely need to salvage smoking bud soon before the seeds are to well developed!

High/Effect Duration:

Heavy body stone and brain numbing last 2.5 - 3 hours, sometimes longer not a smoke if you plan on doing anything...lol!


BAG APPEAL: 4 out of 5. light green with brown pistils , smells like Tootsie Rolls!

THE GROWTH: Small to medium plants maybe 29" tall good branching, dense buds!

THE SMELL: Awesome, smells like Tootsie Rolls!

THE SMOKE/Vape: Heavy smoke yet not harsh at all! Can't say about taste, smoke tastes like smoke to me. Vaporized however, tastes like tootsie rools, chocolate and oranges, just like good, black hash!


THE HIGH: Heavy body stone and brain numbing last 2.5 - 3 hours, sometimes longer not a smoke if you plan on doing anything...lol! Zone out with a movie or tv. or some good music. Then just sit back and disappear for a few hours. Mellow yet intense!

Summary:
I really didn't expect a landrace from such a poor environment to bet this good! If you go easy 1-2 hits your good, just a mellow but functional high. 3 or more however.......... Its our favorite sleep medicine lol!

This strain will always have a place in my garden!
