Lighting led prices

I did indeed I have seen blackdog at a few cannabis cups. And always wanted to give them a shot and see what their new product is really like. So I found a good deal and got one. I have tried and been successful with other led grow lights with some good results. I have grown blue, vipar, mars, agrow, apollo. Super ufo,the list gose I'm always willing to try out a light or manufacturer of leds.

Personally I don't care for the production 3&5 watt LEDs. I recently purchased 2 kind k5's 1000 watt panels and shortly after 32 diodes burned out. Most panels lack the quality parts you would expect in a high priced fixture. Generic bottom bin LEDs, cheap no name drivers, improperly sized heat sinks. It's all to common and shouldn't be according to the price.

Personally I will never buy one of these lights again. There are so many false claims and most companies make it impossible to compare wattage to actual par or ppfd. Cobs are the way to go. Real cree cobs not the Amazon or eBay ones. They run 47-53% efficient which is double the production lights for sale these days.

i have two panels 1200W too, one burned out in 4 months (13 LED-s burned out) and every passing month other diodes follow.. All i got from manufacturer is a statement, that this is normal and their blue LED-s are supposed to do that. You can imagine my reaction.. and the only way is basically to send them the units back and forth for repairs - its just economically not viable.

Anyway, i would really keep away from those cheap China made stuff. If the manufacturer claims PAR and has documentation to back it up, then i consider trying out their product.

Besides false claims this is way to common forestly. Mars seems to have a pretty low failure rate but they just aren't early efficient enough.

i have researched those, supposed to be very nice lights (by PAR output). BUT, they are ment for SCROG mainly as i understood.

so far it's superior to my 1000w hps I can tell you that. Without a doubt. Better and more even coverage and because it's only 6 inches from the canopy the light penetration is INCREDIBLE. Secondary bud points are looking GREAT. I'm doing a journal because I think I am the only member with one.

If the data is accurate on their site it doesn't look too bad.

660w for a ppfd of 909. To compare an unreflected 1000w Hortilux eye is 1798. Based on their numbers, they're running ~35% efficiency. Better spread plays a large part, but the light itself is less efficient than HPS.(42%)
