I like the look of the Zelion too but as you say the price is through the roof but it is Osram made so I can see why.
Osram make some great diodes.
I also like that the zelion is passively cooled making it silent operation.
The only problem is there are three models, the Grow light, the Grow White & the Sun light
The Grow light and the Grow White are virtually identical when it comes to the red and blue part of the spectrum.
They however differ fro each other in two obvious ways the Grow light will give you that pinky light often associated with led grow lights and the Grow white will give out a white light.
The other difference albeit a more subtle one is the fact that the grow white also has very low levels of green, yellow and orange.
However the blue part of the spectrum is not so powerful in either the Grow light or the Grow white.
This is where the Sun light comes in and it has the blue spectrum on maximum as well as giving out some green, yellow, orange & red.
The Sun lights spectrum trails is most powerful between 425nm & 500nm after that the spectrum starts to trail off.
I would imagine the best grow set up would use a combination of these light adding to the outlay.
Deep pockets needed indeed.
Here I include some spectral graphs to show the difference between the different Osram Zelions.
