Mine are Autoseeds which I haven't had a issue with. I do run my lights 24/0 for germ might have damped off with the dome haven't had issue before but maybe I've been lucky. Better luck next time is what I always say

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent ph ec meter?

I use and like Apera for pH, any cheap calibratable EC meter will do nicely. IMO. Don't go cheap on pH, they are not worth it. Apera is good, and about the cheapest good one you are likely to find. The one I have has a replaceable probe, and I am now using probe #2 after about three years of effective performance on #1.
