When the helicopters were filming the flooding I Thought..Shit...the girls on the patio will be standing out like a sore thumb.......with Thousands viewing the footage Live..........Aggghh......

yep ,, shit is shit lol and the nile anology was in my thinking when i asked where it had come from ,

All our agricultural water come from mountain wash.....we are between the mountains and the sea...so all the rain from the mountains has to pass us on it's way back out to sea.

Funny you mentioned raised beds i was thinking about that as a suggestion for you to future proof any future episodes ,,its happened a lot down south recently, they just sacrifice regions to more flood to save other parts

Yeah..the Segura burst it's banks..threatened the Dam..so they let it loose..on us...

On the first weekend after the flood council workers and volunteers took 1,000 Tonnes of flood debris off our local beach...That gives you an idea of the volume of water that come down.

I was trying to find a plant pot with a 1 meter drop for me Avocados and not having much joy..you can get Wider pots...but nothing much Higher....I was looking at all sorts..even wheelie bins to get the drop.....then I Thought.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

1,000 ltr water tanks.....hmmmm....got the right drop for the Avocado...
If hubby cut them in half..and I had 4...would it be possible to be self sufficient in the stuff we use by planting each in rotation over the year...hmmm

And...If we flooded again...they are heavy duty plastic......they'd Float....

Yeah..hubby has already been in and cleaned our sluice out..lots of stones and pebbles had it clogged up..
and the field has a 4 ft drainage trench at the back of it..but the farmer maintains that...he's had the JCB down...so it must have been okay or he would have done it

The next door neighbour is like hubby..a grumpy old man.......an I can only deal with one at a time...so we don't really speak..
In the middle of the flooding he comes down the flooded road..sits at the gate..and Toots...

Well I'm less than impressed..plodging through 9 inches of watter in me flip flops..holding me trouser bottoms up.. to go see what he wants...

He says..have you got a water runoff at the back of your field...?
I say aye...(he actually has one too...same farmer does both of our land..)
He says..well I Think your drainage ditch is flooding my land and it is almost into my camper van..what are you going to do about it...?





Dip Shit...they've let a flipping dam down on us..there is massive flooding for as far back as you can See..and you want to Blame our drainage ditch...

If you look through the trees to the right you can see the green cover on the poly tunnel..he's on the left with the camper van...and he tried to blame us...
