Hi guys, lockz here.. im 3 weeks into a project that i think will be very interesting, im doing 1x auto anubis using household items to see if its actually possible to grow a healthy plant all the way to the end spending only 5 british pounds. The household items i am using are as follows:

⊙ 1x small'ish flower pot
⊙ 1x average household lamp with a 14w CFL (soon to be replaced with a 42w CFL)
⊙ average all purpose plant food
⊙ seedling and cutting compost
⊙ tapwater

I think this project will be a great read for any newbie intending to grow for the first time without spending too much (providing its a success) i have pics of the plant since it was about 1 week old up untill now which is day 23, i will upload the pics of the plant and of my growspace (which is tiny and ultimately shit) as soon as i have the time.

I've seen a couple grows that were very successful using only the most basic materials.

I do have a few things to say. 14w of light isn't that much at all. You're better off sticking it in the sun. Even indirect sunlight would better provide for the plant, but I know this isn't always possible, as discretion is often paramount to a grow and the grower.

And lastly, all purpose plant food won't have the proper npk ratio for cannabis. It will likely stunt the plant.

High levels of nitrogen are important for vegetative growth. Once vertical growth stops, the plant will autoflower and then it's important to stop feeding it n and start boosting levels of potassium and phosphorus.

Other than that, let your water sit out for a day or two before you feed it. Any trace chemicals like ammonia will evaporate out and some of the harder minerals will sink to the bottom or coat the sides.

You might have pH and nute lock problems, but without a soil pH probe and proper veg and bloom nutes, you're just going to have to accept that. No big deal, but your yield will suffer just a bit. I don't think you'll mind though. It's still pretty much free weed.

Anyway, good luck bruv. I'll be watching.

If its an experiment, then go for it! I would at least get a 23watt ( 100 watt equiv. ) the rest, well the only way to know is to try. Whatever the outcome, you'll learn something! :Sharing One:

Cheers guys thanks for input, im getting a 42w cfl in next few days so light isnt a prob, the plant actually seems to have enjoyed the 14w for first few weeks its actually a decent size i'll attempt to upload a photo from my phone now (cant use comp as im currently at work) '

I like anubis auto I grew two last year and they are pretty tasty buds. Mabey get one on those light bulb splitters and use two bulbs over that plant. Cfl's produce more light from the sides then the top of the bulb. That socket splitter will make it so that the bulb is on an angle pointing the sides of the bulb down on the plant givin it more light. Making growth a hell of a lot better. You can still use those 14 watters but if you use that splitter it will work a lot better. Good luck Im gonna watch this one to see what happens...K.I.M.

She's a little leggy, but that's just lack of light. Ideally you want about an inch of internode spacing. That's the space between main branches on the stem.

If you have any reflective material, you should line the inside of the cab with it. Mylar is the obvious choice, but it's not always immediately available. Most people would tell you not to use aluminium foil because it can create hot spots, but I think any thing would be an improvement.

Also, given the apparent height restrictions, you might want to consider tying it down gently (called low stress training). You can use anything you'd like, it won't hurt the plant. It will continue to grow just fine, even if the stem is tied down at a 90 degree angle. You'll see a positive result when you harvest if you lst it a little.

Other than that, she looks happy. No burned leaf tips or signs of nute lock or pH imbalance. You're doing great bud, keep it up.
