Lighting Looking for new light to replace 1000W HPS

Is cob really better than regular leds?
Got mine from www.cobshop.net as many did in here. They are efficient, easy to move around, carry low electrical draw, no noise, nearly as bright as the sun, low heat and you can choose to "finish yourself" or buy ready to hang. I've got the ready to hang 3500k.

Honestly I don't understand the tech talk regarding leds. I'm just looking for a good led that can replace a 1000W HID, something that won't be a limiting factor.
Is it right to assume that the amazon etc chinese lights whether vipar or mars or maxbloom or whatever, won't come close to replacing 1000W HPS?
If so, should I be looking towards the expensive leds like blackdog etc? Cob vs standard led? UV, IR?
Something that has the potential to yield kilos\pounds, however unrealistic that might be.

I feel very confident in my growing skills. Yields have been so far 115+g per plant. Chopped big ones today, I estimate 200-250+g per plant from those.

I don't want to DIY.

I understand that the autocobs are REALLY good. But still, if possible I'd like to get even better lights. I think I might fare better with one big light per tent instead of multiple smaller.

Okay, let me ask this way.

If money was no object which light would you get? I know there's no point in getting the most expensive light if there are cheaper lights that are exactly as good.

@guerillagrower#65 Thanks for the suggestion, looks really badass!

Again im sticking with the teleos as they do them in 3 different sizes and for me personally being in the UK ,it just seems sensible to use them ,customer service etc......google timber lighting think their american ......have u had a look at the D.I.Y Cob thread .........u could build and tailor to ur needs.....get to choose the components u want and size shape etc

My only caution of not yet jumping down this route is,having been a victim in the past of wanton lust and need for the newest things ,ive wasted thousands on obsessions in the past ...erm...... hifis ,motorcycles, all of which date so quickly ......it seems that just as its all LED,then cobs ,strips ,quantum boards, whats next when i buy all them and come on here and get all green with envy at the newest thing.......until them my streetlamp and dirt will do me fine .......im doing this to save money not spend it ......also i keep a spare bulb .....if it goes i replace it .....led cob etc if u aint got the parts u need ....diodes etc..u got to order it and wait [emoji111]

If you prefer one unit for the whole tent google quantum boards . Once you have one in front of you , you’ll notice it’s simple design . It’s very easy to switch boards for different spectrums, or to work on in general. Probably cost between $ 700 - $ 1000 depending on the options. I got one , they grow the shit out of some weed .
