Lighting Looking for new light to replace 1000W HPS

That spectrum has real science behind it. Nasa is using it.

Upon asking around... I have to warn OP.

Don't expect the perfect sun to last more than a year. Got that info from two good sources.

The spectrum is amazing but the tech isn't. So your focus should be on finding a light that has a great spectrum, and is built to last.

Look into Grownorthern. Tang's plants look mighty fine to me..

Sorry

Big question is why do you want to replace your existing light?
1000w is expensive to replace with other style lights and not sacrifice true light power. I retired my 1000w hps and went to led, I also downsized from a 10-10 room to a 4-4 tent.
Current lighting is
2@1500w cob fixtures wall draw (235-250 ea)
And a Mars reflector 480 wall draw (200w)
For a large room I would be back to my hps with the addition of my new LEDs.
I can't say. Made the right choice as I have a couple months till harvest yet, OK not the buds will tell.

Heat management. Hps is bulky, heavy, irritating.

Yup you did say that already, my bad. My conversion to led started because I got a great deal on a 1500w Cobb. People buy led come online get told there crap, go screw up a grow, which normally has nothing to do with the light and dump them, 2 out of 3 of my lights were barely used, so I saves so money,
The problem I fine is they lack coverage so the 3 lights do nice in a smaller area I would not be happy with 1 of equivalent wattage.. I would need a lot in a 10-10 room. There Is a thread on quantum boards that looks promising for larger areas. I think the commercial guys are going this route. But I might be gossip as well.

Led goes give you the benefit of a modular lighting system.
