Hello, i'm about to buy this light but every grow i've found researching had some weird problem with it.
I guess leds in general give calmag def (maybe not, too much debating...)

Anyway is something about this light that i should stay away from?
Has anyone ever actually completed a grow without problems with it?

Every other marshydro/topled model seems to be working perfectly and be recommended but

Seeing how almost every grow i've seen with this specific model had some weird problems kinda discourages me...
I hope to be proven wrong!

Thanks!

Hi bmovies :) I have been using 2 of those panels in my auto closet. Yes, they do cause plants to use a LOT of cal mag, to where I just use Botanicare calmag+ regularly, including "pre-charging" the soil with an initial dose. Other than the cal mag, the only problems I've had are some bleaching of tops if plants grew to close while I was working. I've recently started using Growstar 450w panels-available on eprey..- as they are a lot more real watts for the $$$. I get 2 of them for $275, and each is a real 286-300 watts of LED power. The Mars 300s are around 170-180 real watts. What kind of problems, other than cal mag, have you been experiencing?
Hope that helps :) Best to you!

I have two old model 300 watts and I like them. I am only growing two or three plants at a time. I have had the same issues as waximus. I just bump up the cal/mag. I had some bleaching as well my last grow but it was because I had the lights to close.

Waximus, i havent bought the light yet man, i have just been looking into it and everything i found looked weird so i thought i'd ask here...

I guess it's not too bad but yeah, definitely something. From what i've seen researching it the other models dont have that (?)

1guy how are yields man? compared to hps if u ever used one?

I have seen between 1 and 2 oz. a plant. I am by no means an expert on the matter. I just harvested my 2nd grow. I have only grown with these LEDs.

2 oz i already had with the 180w Old Model per Plant so i guess You can pull more with the 300w. And what specific problem do You mean with the 300w Model? I have a lot of Mates which use that one since end 2013 and they aint had a single problem with them

1guy thats cool man, thanks for the reply!

medic searching to see grows with that specific model in google i found a lot that had the burnt leaf problem and people not figuring out what it was... obviously it could be shit, people not knowing yet how to use those leds but
thought i'd ask here before buying anything cause i'm not a pro either by any means, so.. ;p

I just looked at an older journal, when I ran 3 purple kush photoperiods under one of the MArs 300w, and I yielded 8.32 ounces from the 3 plants under that one panel. One other issue I noted back then- my closet is a carpeted, concrete (ground level) floor, and in Winter that floor gets COLD. I had a couple seedlings go south before I noticed that the floor was only 56 degrees, and was stunting the root growth. I put some 1/2 inch styrofoam under the pots, and problem solved! Just needed a little insulating :) I never had the problem when running the HPS light in there, but that light is a space heater with glare... lololol

Finding just scattered "weird problems" for what was (and still could be) likely among the highest-selling single LED models out there is actually rather reassuring. With very large-selling/high volume discount models such a this, keep in mind that it is likely a very good product if all you see is some outlier/unusual postings. We'd all surely know, it would be very instantly obvious online, if they didn't get the job done as well as other LEDs, if they were breaking down, etc.

I bought 1 of these 2 weeks ago, now using it to supplement a 900-watt LED. For a proven good (enough) 300-watt LED for less than $90 delivered (in US), less than the cost 90-180 watt UFO LEDs are selling for, I figured how can I go wrong.
