Thanks Pop! Any residual flavor though? The main reason I wouldn't make an alcohol tincture is the alcohol, but the secondary reason is that liquor tastes awful. Especially high test.

there is no alcohol taste, in fact Everclear is tasteless. Cooking the glycerin evaporates all the alcohol. You could cook in straight glycerin but glycerin is not a good solvent actually. Using the alcohol to do the actuall extraction give you your best concentration of cannabinoids

The tincture I made tasted rather awful simply because I don't like the taste of booze anymore. Around here you can get the highest test Everclear, the real original stuff lol. Apparently it has to be watered down in proof for some markets, stupid lol... Like mentioned though, you dont have to keep the alcohol. It's great at the initial extraction but then can be rebound to glycerine or oil or whatevs and the alch cooked off easily.

I haven't had a cookie or brownie for at least a year and a half, really miss that. Made some while in Cali while taking care of my Dad while he was passing from cancer, made them so strong that one cooking made me fall out of my chair lol, Really miss that

Hopefully soon enough you'll be reaping some nice meds and you can whip some medibles up. Finding medibles has improved my quality of life beyond anything I thought possible.

Hey Medi, I know you cook a lot of oil etc, as do I. Have you tried double cooked oil? Its a great way to make really good oil out of any trim you have. I use mixed trim, ie, all types of leaf mixed together, including some fan leaves. Cook an ounce in just enough of your favorite oil for 2 hours. Strain when done and cool. Now decarb a 1/2 ounce of bud and cover it with the previously cooked oil, cook for 2 hours. You'll have some potent oil good for caps or cooking!

That's a great idea Pop thanks man!! I usually do a mix of bud and trim anyway so this way I'd just do it in two batches. I'll probably do it when I harvest my Blurp since I'll have a massive amount of trim to work with. Really great idea again though, like I said it has changed my life using medibles as my primary med and then using flowers as a booster. I can only imagine the relief will be greater with double oil.

thats exactly where I want to get to, edibles work so much better for the pain imho. The issues at my house will be the smell and trying to control that as I cook the oil or butter, when I get to the point o starting that again may I ask for some assistance in that area as cooking for me is still very new...

Absolutely Dirt, you're welcome to PM me anytime you need help with something. If you use a crockpot you'll definitely have an easier time of managing smell. Plus it's only for a few hours so worst case scenario you could do it at night.
