I wonder if a "strain database" would get much interest.
It doesn't seem to fit here at AFN. Maybe Mephisto could host it?

I am thinking of a list of all the strains ever sold. (maybe a freebie & prototype section too?)
Clickable columns so the list can be ranked by: popularity, height, yield, sexiness, cup size...

Click on a strain to see a summary of: growth characteristics, genetics, phenotypes, nute sensitivity, disease issues, heat tolerance.
A bit like http://en.seedfinder.eu/database/breeder/Mephisto_Genetics/

Each Strain might have subsections were we can add info about: growing, harvesting info, breeding, smoking/vaping/resin.
If Mephisto sets up the structure, we can help fill in the info.
The info is here, but it is scattered across thousands of pages of journals.

We've had it in mind to start collating data, and basically have a file (digital, or physical in our house) of information for each strain.

So it's a good idea and we could definitely get on board with it, the more info the better it is for everyone

When I am really obsessed with a growing a Mephisto strain for the first time I read every AFN journal about it.
Hundreds and hundreds of pages for popular strains like HBSS.

That becomes less practical as Mephisto gets more popular, only cyborgs like @Corgy can read fast enough.
Normal humans need AFN for journals, news, social banter, amateur porn...

Maybe they also need an authoritative curated summery.
A cliff notes for the home grower with a job, family & nagging wife.

Is there a Lab you like? What does it cost for each strain?

I have been told that a lab test of weed cost 2,50 Euro, yes that's right, two and a half Euro here in the Netherlands, perhaps @Shad3s can provide more details.

It does indeed sound rather economical..........but if the economics and logistics pan out, I have a Milk Lady, HBSS and Walter White to go into the test tubes

On second thoughts, maybe spare the Walter the embarrassment of blowing up the test equipment scales.........or send it to Los Alamos National Lab, but even then...............wicked is how it is described by those in the know!

It's about €80 a strain here just for thc/cbd analysis.
We have a few strains lined up to be tested in the new year, Heisenberg special, Walter white, sour hound, deep blue c and then the artisanals when they are ready.

It's been on the Mephisto workboard-whiteboard to start a testing program.
Anyone that can test a sample of a Mephisto strain they've grown on our behalf, will get store credit from us to the same value as the test cost.
