Just noticed a few spots showing up on some the top leaves of one of my plants. I've been feeding General Hydroponics Flora series and just switched to Koolbloom Dry in my last feeding.

Does this look like nute burn or something from the nutrients? I know KB dry is supposed to be "hot", but I only feed at about 75% of the recommended strength.

I checked my soil pH today and it's just about 7.0, maybe slightly higher, but not higher than 7.5.

Should I be treating this, flushing, or just ignore?

do you have an EC meter/PPM meter to be checking the runoff concentration?? none the less i would say Lock out with high ph you have here. I dont know if flushing is needed right away i would get your ph down and maybe knock down the koolbloom a bit too casue that stuff is hot for sure!! id do 1/4 strength introducing a hot product of such.

Only other factor I've been thinking about is that I'm using tap water from a well. It goes through a water softener. From what I'm reading that can strip out Calcium and Magnesium and possibly add a pinch of sodium to the water.

I'd give Epsom Salts a crack if you're really using a water softener. Have to be careful because depending on the softener they do increase sodium a noticeable amount. Not enough to harm plants in most situations, but still.. we don't want to feed our plants salt water.

Water softeners strip magnesium and calcium and add salt (in simple terms) so if you're not supplementing these two nutrients then the plant surely isn't getting enough.

I'd try 1 tsp of epsom salts per gallon of water.. unless you have a CaMg supplement, do you?

Any chance you could get your water from the well head rather than the softener? Hard water isn't much fun for people but plants often like it.

Thanks guys...got some CaliMag supplement tonight. Will add to distilled water and run that through.
