@jingo im not sure of any replies on here as for me its saying theres no replys but i know you did comment.

Anyway i was going to ask you something/things if you dont mind :)

I got a root nutrient, after reading reviews i went with plant magics root stimulant, question i have is have u used one/ when do you use it till.on the desciption on ebay it says into flowering, then plant magics feed chart says week 1 and 2.wondering if its pointless using it past a certain point.

Also the worm castings i will top feed as didnt mix with soil incase i shouldnt of used em.how much would u suggest? I will top it up maybe once a week?

I also got some coffee ground fertilizer from starbucks, was thinking about using a bit aswell if its worth it,its acidic i read so was wondering if it would cause problems

Cheers for any help man

The forum lost a hard drive and they had to do a backup. So there are some posts that got lost.

I used to use root stimulants religiously and they really do help. But these days I find using Coco with perlite gives my roots a quick enough start and my plants always get too damn big anyway. So I don't bother with the root stimulant anymore. Most of them contain kelp which is a great hormone type stimulant. I think they are all worth using until the plant is about 3 or 4 weeks old. You know the time when you're not afraid to water fully, that's when I quit using root stimulant.

Those nutrient companies would be happiest if you use their products all the way through the grow and I usually don't. For instance, I like terpinator. But I will only use it the last two three weeks, then I can really smell the difference and I know it's working.

@jingo hi man i know ive asked you about hydro before but im very close to purchasing one,so wanted an opinion on two dwcs.

What would you say of these:

A 33litre bucket one here

Or this 100 litre one (both for one plant)

I dont think i could fit 2 of the 33litre ones in my tent,so its just one 33litre one vs the 100litre one.
I like how the 100litre one has a tap for emptying the res.
Im not sure if 100 litres is to much meaning will waste nutes or if just means i wont need to change it as much.
Also if i could start a plant from seed init.

Cheers for any help man i need to make my mind up so can get it all ready for next grow.

Choosing between the two I would definitely go for the 33 over the 100 Ltr. Early on that 33 liter will last you about 10 days between res changes, later a really big plant would need a res change about every 3 days.

You would probably use that kit about one or two grows and then buy an air pump the cost just as much. But that's kind of the way it is with most kits you buy to learn and then you figure out what you really need and replace everything.

In my part of the world it's very easy to get all the components of a kit and assemble them yourself. Here are some of the items that I have used in my deep water culture growing days.

So as you see, you have a net pot it just sits down on top of your bucket and then you drop your airline down through the net pot. You can use any size bucket you would want with that kind of setup. I like bigger air pumps even if I'm only running one or two buckets.

You can drill a hole down at the bottom of the buckets and use bulkhead seals to join more than one bucket together so you can have one bucket under a scrog and one bucket out from under a scrog. What that allows you to do is leave a big plant for up to a week with the same res and change your res without moving your plants around.

To change a reservoir on a single bucket system you just make up a complete brand new bucket of nutrients pick that net pot up and set it down in the new nutrients and you're good to go. You already have your airline down in through there your stone is down where your roots are, it all transfers really easy.

It's about 7 a.m. here and I'm already Totally Baked on some blue dream wax so I don't know how much sense this makes.

You would be constantly adjusting things on the Fly and that would be kind of a pain especially early on when the plant is Young. Plants can use different nutrients in the reservoir at different rates and if you're not changing the nutrients at a reasonably regular basis that can be very hard to tell exactly what minerals you've got in your res. So I guess it's more of an expert grower that would be into doing that.

They have black buckets too,i thought they needed to be black.im trying to find a good source for dwc instructions.like setting it up,maintaining nutes changing res etc

Find some of Derek from Colorado old posts. I can't recall the exact spelling of your screen name but there should be loads of posts over in the deep water culture section. He did quite a bit with deep water culture stuff.

Grow weed easy is also a good source for basic setup on deep water culture
