Lighting My First Grow - Northern Lights Blue

Sometimes you get the odd bit of lead twist at this age, they grow out of it bro.

Good to know, I tend to worry a lot and since is the first time round I stress even more :p

I was the same mate. But they are pretty hardy plants, you will be surprised. Last week my tent hit the 36c Lol plant just seem to love it. :D

They look perfect for day 7 bro the second set of true leaves are the size they should be,you will be onto the 3rd set in a couple of days. Just keep on doing what your doing brother.

Thanks a lot man, the comments are greatly appreciated! I'll update regularly :) peace

Day 10

Hey guys, another update here for you today. The plants are 10 days old since showing their heads - is it about time to start introducing veg nutes or should I wait a few more days? I've taken them out of the tent to try and get some clearer photos but please forgive me as I only have access to my phone camera :/

Both girls together, the one on the left still slightly outgrowing the other.

These are all the plant on the left, I've noticed the yellowing of a tip this morning, any ideas? Just been fed plain water up to this point.

And this is the plant on the right.

Once again feedback, comments, criticism are all greatly appreciated so don't be shy :peace:

Hey bro

Girls are looking right on track, alot of people seem to be on day 10 at the mo. lol.
People will tell you plant wont need feeding until the soil has run out of nutrients, so for a light mix its 2-3 week and an All mix will be 5-6. But you will find most people feed at about week 2. I feed at day 7, at 0.5ml depending what you use, I think they would even take 1ml in organic. Try about 0.5-1ml grow, and maybe the same of CalMag if you have any on hand.

Hey man thanks for the comments. The bottle recommends 2-4ml per litre so I reckon I'll mix in 1ml (a quater of recommended max dose) and see how they take it. I don't have any CalMag, just gonna use it when/if needed for my first time. Any ideas about the yellow tip? not sure if it was due to over watering, my ph sits at 7 until I add nutrients( did a 2ml test in 1l of water) - once i've let that settle for a few hours it drops to around 6.0-6.5 which should be just right for them, probably a little high right now.:peace:

Day 14

Hey guys, so today is the two week marker since they showed their heads. I've got a few pictures with a couple updates (mistakes) for y'all, d'oh!
The first update is that I figured out why I had yellowing of certain tips, or at least its the best conclusion I could come to..I topped up the soil level after one week of growth because I started them too low in the airpots, this resulted in certain leaves touching the soil with their tips. I didn't think it would be a problem but I'm now guessing (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the plants tried to take up nutrients too quickly through their leaves that were touching the wet soil after being watered/fed, is this viable? I'm going to lower the soil level slightly for my next feed and make sure no leaves are touching the soil - should prove me wrong or right. Anyway sorry for the rant, here is the best picture I could take to illustrate the issue.lftleafabs.jpg

After presumably getting to the bottom of that problem, I continued to make another rookie mistake - Simply got my two bottles of feed mixed up, one was mixed with 1ml of grow to start them off and one was mixed with 2ml of grow ready for today, stupidly I gave them the 2ml feed yesterday (they shared a bit under 1L). They seem to be taking it okay but was probably a bit much for them straight off the gun, let me know what you guys think - all new growth seems nice and green so hopefully they will pull through :) Here's a few more pictures..These three are the lady on the left:lftsid.jpglfttop.jpglftfull.jpg
And these are the smaller girl on the right, not far behind but new growth develops a few days slower then the other:rhtfull.jpgrhtsid.jpgrhttop.jpg
Enjoy folks, take it easy :peace:

not to shabby Pal nice one would stick to 1ml of grow at this stage with a ph of 6.5 in soil and it looks like the start of a wee touch of Mg diff you can rectify this with a 1tsp of epsom salts per 2lts mixed in a little hot water and add to your feed
but nothing to worry about mate , your getting there :peace:

Ps , Pal are you useing your silicon mate
