sir grow alot
No Till Freak
What up AFN,
Sir Grow Alot here to start the documentation of building my earthbag round house.
for those who don't know what an earthbag house is here is a great link to bring you up to speed: http://www.earthbagbuilding.com/
what earthbag building means for me and my fiance is a mortgage free life, more than anything this is the #1 reason. I just want to avoid as much debt as possible and retire as early as possible to ensure i work to live vs live to work!!!
in short earthbag buildings are fireproof, bulletproof, sound proof, tornado/hurricane proof and termite proof. plus not to mention stands for 500+ years!!!! and cost a fraction of the cost it takes to buy or build a "standard residential home", with little to no construction experience.
I think more people should be aware of alternative home building techniques and self sustaining living.
My goal is to be fully off the grid in 5 years. Partially off grid in 2 years.
I will begin posting pics starting this coming monday.
I inherited 18.5 acres to work with and we have already cleared a location. I will be digging and burning out tree stumps this weekend and attempt to move on to leveling the pad.
Any Q's?? or comments bring them on!! Lets all learn together!:Sharing One:
