Looked exactly like the 2011 team, all the talent in the world and no effort. Just show up and expect to win with the "easy" games. It is really pitiful and I am quite disappointed Saban wasn't unleashing holy hell on them. Looked like he was in a slump as well. LSU looked good considering the playing conditions. Mettenberger, even with the INT looked in excellent form. I don't doubt LSU whips our ass this year and if we keep it up you are right X, Ole Miss is going to stomp a mud hole in us. Probably one of the worst games I have watched in the past few years. A train wreck.
It's not time to jump off a cliff yet, bro.

: BAMA held out 5 first string guys with injuries, mostly minor. They rotated 5 new corners the whole game just to see if one or two would stand out. Nobody... not Saban, the assistants, or anybody on that team was going to have a hand in embarrassing Mac. There was never a chance/prayer BAMA was ever going to come close to covering that spread... even if they could have dropped a hundred on them.
Swamp... you have my sympathies... I just looked at the rest of the LSU schedule and this is the year you guys got shafted. It has happened to all of us. Then, to top it off, if LSU survives 'till Nov, they get BAMA and A&M back-to-back. They'll get to see what it's like chasing that greased jack-rabbit around the week after BAMA and LSU have beaten each other half to death... as BAMA did last year.
I see a very good chance the SEC gets locked out of the natty this year because of what we do to each other... None of the other conferences have more than two teams that are in contention or a are threat to beat a contender.
These are the teams I see as contenders and how I would rank them today:
Oregon*
Ohio State/Florida State**
BAMA***/LSU***
Stanford*
Clemson**
Louisville
These eight teams will at least be pared down to 5 by playing each other. The only two that don't face being eliminated on the field are OH State and Louisville. I do not see Louisville being selected over a one-loss Oregon, BAMA or LSU. Both BAMA and LSU face the real possibility of not being one-loss teams at selection time. OH State has a very easy ride, compared to any of the other contenders. The only way they don't make it is if they blow a game with inferior competition... there's nobody else in the Big this year. So, that leaves one spot for the rest of us, as it looks today.
One thing that has always been true about college football... Things change.

:
P.S. Watch out for Baylor.
