Hi there. I'm at the 11 week stage today with an auto blue mystic. It still doesn't look ready? There's what looks like new growth happening, new pistles etc. Also using only my eyes I see no amber trichs, clear to cloudy is all.

There was a problem with what was likely ph lockout, which I think I mostly corrected, and which seemed to severely stunt growth / yellowing on new growth etc.

What I'm wondering is does the stunting delay maturity significantly or will it mature in the same length of time but with a smaller yield? Googling this I can't really find any info suggesting anyone going past the 11 week stage.

I'm going to leave it another week anyway, but I want to know what peoples past experience is, under the worst conditions, whats the longest it takes until chop? Don't want to cut it early and decrease yield / not strong enough.

Ta,
Owl

Welcome to AFN Owl Stunting usualy reduces yeild but finesh on time as far as i remember can you put some pics up so we can give our advice a little better Some Auto Strains Do not amber up that much also

Thanks for the response si. I've just taken a few photos, the browning on the tips is a constant thing, mostly gets better and worse, I don't think its related to end of life cycle. Though I did notice some yellowing on fan leaves earlier, which at this stage I'm kinda happy about :)

Bear in mind with the pics, I seem to notice she looks better in her photos than in real life, like some human girls I know.

Welcome to AFN. The browning might be stress more than end of life like you say and the yellowing of fan leaves is what I look for. I usually harvest when the mid-fan leaves start to yellow. The resin production looks great and if you can wait for more cloudy trics you should notice some more bud fattening. Your yeild will be less than expected but maturity should be about the same.

ta for the reply gent. this is what is throwing me and spurred me to ask for advice (I should probably add this is my first grow). I'm looking at it and thinking I should leave it another 2 weeks despite the fact that most of the hairs are red. But this would bring me into the 13 week stage. Also this strain supposedly turns purple / blue midway through flowering. Not really seeing that at the moment, maybe just beginning, which would put me at 11 weeks and I'm half way through flower!

I've found that with hybrid autos, which they all are, some plants will take on more from one side or the other. With that being said even though the seeds may come from the same parent plant there are going to be minor to major differences between them. So even though it is a blue mystic it might not go blue, and if one seed is done at 11 weeks another planted at the same time, same environment, same every thing may go longer! That's the beauty of it, growing autos its like a box of chocolates.......

my northern lights is almost 14 weeks n not ready yet lol

What is your PH and what is your Nutrient lineup and how much are you giving it per feeding? I stunted my first grow of some 60 Day Wonders and they took way longer to finish. Also previously stated by Si not all autoflowers show ambers. Just scope it out to where you see little to no clear and close to all cloudy.

thanks for the advice, and its really handy to know that I could be waiting forever if I expect amber trichs / blue purple. I've been growing this organically so it has had little in the way of nutes. Over last few weeks I have given it some bio biz flower. I gave it nutes last about 4 days ago so from here on in will give it plain water for a 1-2 week and will watch for the fan leaves to yellow.

I'm certain its not had any over nutes, nor under I don't think. I bought a cheap ph meter for £3.50 on amazon, I think that's the problem. It was telling me I had neutral tap water. Actually my tap water is crap, and high in calcium carbonate I think. To start the soil was about 6.5 so I assumed that neutral water wasn't going to effect this. When I had problems I took a handful of soil and mixed it with vinegar and it started to fizz like hell. PH meter doesn't even seem to work for alkali..

I then flushed it with very concentrated mix of white vinegar and water, and have switched to bottled water. Seemed to fix it because new growth after that was coming through green, but for a while there was not much growth.

Welcome to the Familystylez rasta smokeglad to have you.
