Grow Mediums new at dwc---help

have been seeing a lot of pics of great plants grown in dwc so I would like to try it.im a 65 yr old and have always had gardens of all kinds all in promix--I have a few old things around that might work.give me info please --here is what I have so far!!!will wash everything in bleach and paint bucket black drill hole for air hose ,will cut a square in top of lid to insert the blue filter I will convert to hold 1 plant .does bottom of the blue thing touch water?can I use 3 part jungle juice in this setup?if not what do I need?wheredo I get the red stones to hold plant..all the help I can get---will try a auto first!!!

Hey brother- make things a little simpler and do away with the basket and just buy a net pot like this

They only cost a couple of quid/dollars and just cut a hole in your lid so this can sit in it but not fall through!
You will need a rockwool cube to germ seed in- and hydroton/clay pebbles to fill the net pot with.
Do you already have a ph and ec pen? its possible to grow without them but if problems arise its really hard to fix them

I appreciate the help--I found a 1 pot system for 80.00 with everything but the plant---dwc system--ferts --ph test kit and up-down ph --will try that I think.appreciate the response.

I personally dont use tds or ph pen in my dwc, but I do know the tds and ph of the water I use. Like sanguine said above. Just spend the dollar for a single net pot. Jungle will work fine, I started growing years ago in dwc with jungle juice. Good luck to you brother dwc is where its at for force feeding your plants lol

When your kit gets here check your TDS of your tap water first thing. You may have water that is too hard for good dwc. Good reason not to get as whole kit, just pens to start.

Two black 5 gallon buckets, one five gallon bucket net pot. Put your air hose down through your net pot and just change buckets to change nutes.

Thats pretty much exactly what I do lol. It makes life so much easier. I changed 4 buckets this morning in no time at all.
