I'm looking to replace my factory driver on my (supposedly) 50x3W LED UFO and I wish to receive as many opinions as possible so I won't waste money only to destroy the light.

The light can only accommodate one driver and I was thinking about getting this one: http://www.dx.com/p/1-7a-60w-power-constant-current-source-led-driver-85-265v-47305#.VMzv-MmOcQE

My current driver looks like this so I think it is a constant current, only a smaller one:

It draws a puny 30W and I would like at least 50W.

I've tried to do research on the subject but I cannot for the life of me figure out how the light is set up (series, parallel... series in parallel...) and how the driver voltage and current must be calculated... Should've paid more attention at school. :slaps:

Help? :help:

That one is too big. You must not go over 0,7A.
You can find many 650 mA drivers in China or better a Meanwell driver. They also comes
in versions where you can adjust the current.

Rilla.

I hate to be a burden but I cannot find one that is rated at 50 or more watts. Can you?

Find your output voltage and get a variable current/constant voltage unit and adjust it to your liking. You can drive those LEDS higher than the maker did as long as you don't over do it. they'll stand up to 70-75% current rating with ease. Thje makers just don't want to warranty them at that level. I'll tell you something else too, I think that many of the companies claiming to drive their LEDs at 95-100% are lying and putting resistance, etc in the circuit..........I'll look on youtube because I saw a 50watt LED driven to the max and the brightness was blinding even from reflections! If I find it again, I'll post it for all to see.
