Lighting new GN Units

so to wrap it up: somewhere between 45-50% efficiency + the light loss from the diffusor gets you somewhere around 35 PAR W for 500eur. buy yourself 2 cree cxa 3070 ab 3000k cobs, 2 cpu coolers, some drivers and build your own light. you can get the same amount of ppfd for 150eur max. this thing is even more overpriced than the sanlight/agriculture m30. nicely designed with good parts, but heavily overpriced.

Please do ...and bring you skills to the show mate.

I too am reserving judgement pop and you make a very salient argument of of Rolls vs VW and I understand the point your making.

Another way to look at build quality would be to compare a £1.99 digital watch and a Rolex watch, the digital watch may go on working for many many years, but will never have the precision engineering or build quality of the Rolex.

It is the the design of the light which is amazing using latest LED chips & tech, latest near silent frictionless diaphram cooling, latest digital power supplies,Light dimming if grow room temp gets too hot, holographic difuser which can be changed to suit you growing needs and the fact it only uses 75W power and is touted to give comparable performance to a 250W HPS {GN's Claim).

There is a number of users waiting untill March to do exactly as you are and I include my self in that number. We will wait and watch and then make up our minds weather we splash the cash, but if this light is as good as they say it is and is a producer of good yields, then I'll put in my order.

I think some people are just jealous because they cant afford the new tech. I guess we will see how they do over the next few months. I know il be taking down my 600w Hps bulb once my two new units arrive and il be starting a new auto grow in the fist week of January 2015. Once one or two grows are complete using the new tech it will be very easy to compare to the old tech.

Would you guys say those seedlings look stretched and slow in development? How many days old are they? Just asking :peace:

As for the lights, I ordered mine and it was a no-brainer - even if they turn out to be worse in any way than the previous model, I would have gladly paid the extra money two times again for the fact that they're near-silent and that's that, so props to GN for making this product available for people that need this. :check:

They may be a little stretched but its new tech so its going to take some playing around with distance and height to make efficient use from the unit. On another note those monsters Tang has in the back are a lot bigger so im guessing Tang had to keep the light distance a little further than usual for seedlings in order to prevent bleaching or burning on the adults.

Here lies the beauty of Autoflowers,we can watch the HS1s performance in Veg and Bloom at the same time we will have a good idea how well it works in as little as 6 weeks. If I can get 10oz from the 2 Mephestos and veg two autos to the start of bloom I will call that a raging success from 150w.

No more stretch than I would want and there 4 days old,how very dare you call my babies under developed lol.

My mate use a 250w HPS and I know that my 2 year old standard MS6 will smoke it.
You simple just don't get the growth with a HPS as you do with an LED.

Keep up the good work Tang! It will be great to follow the progress of your plants under the HS 1 & thanks for all your patience, dedication and for fielding all of our questions on the HS 1 :)
