Lighting new GN Units

maybe the initial expense is actually a long term saving in leccy bills ? maybe the new gn will make a better paper weight than grow light ?
..this is just one post in 74 pages of waffle...

these wont be like anything you have seen or has been out on the market before .The very latest in LED tech :Gary:

i used to own a gn panel and i sold it because it was on a technology level of 2011, leds improve every year. commercial panels are all behind what could be possible, just look at all the panels the diy scene creates with modern cob chips. gn is i developing a panel with several mono leds, probably top bin quality. but as long as they put A LOT of them in and drive them really low so the efficiency would be increased to be worth it, 300 quid for 75 watts are way too much, you can also get top bin panels form other manufacturers like apache tech, area 51 and another few that don't rely on the chinese stuff. this forum sees this panel as the new messias but in the end gn can only work with the same stuff thats avaiable to everyone else on the market, and for that its too expensive...

GN updated the MS0006 early 2013 and they had the Rebel upgrades available but your right the light was first out in 2011 I also totaly agree LEDs improve every year thats why I'm confident in GNs claim that the new unit will perform as well as the 180w MS0006. I hope this light can perform miracles lol.

There will be believer's and thrre will be doubters but only time will tell, lets face it though even doubters are obviously curious or they wouldn't be in a thread named "new GN units"

Dont forget the Trolls and Flammers bro their the hard work for the moderators.

it probably will, but you can have the same performance already from units like the area 51 rw-75 or one of the 65/80w bonsai heros, you can easily pull 1g/kwH with them. the gn ones would need to be REALLY energy efficient (way above 50%) to top that. and then you still would need them to run for a long time till you profit from the lower energy costs because of the larger upfront costs per unit.

I pull over 1g/kwH ? How do you do that math? I can easily pull well over 1g/w with the non rebel-GN's. Its terribly easy.

I suppose the GN unit being fanless might give it the edge if there's no other newer tech on them than the A51 or Bonsai Hero panels have.

I think we really need to stop arguing over this I've seen that light, I do like it. But im waiting for this new unit from GN. Too expensive? It is for me really but looking long term as i don't want to buy another light in a years time. If you don't like it before even knowing anythjng about it well what does that say? Stop hating, chill out, it's just a light it will do what we all do and thats grow.

When I was running the 2 120w fully upgraded MS0004s I was getting about 400g every 6 weeks with my 2 plant rotation system from a 1.2m2 room with just 240w,light cycle was 20/4 so I will let you do the math while I dig up the diaries.

Shit me I had to work that out, just out of curiosity, if im correct that about 2g per kwh, admittedly you do actually know how to grow though
