Lighting new GN Units

so you have 2 plants under 120w for 12 weeks, 20h a day for 400g?

that would be 12w x 7d x 20h x 0.12kwH = 1680h x 0.12kwH = 201.6 kwH for 400g or 1.98g/kwH

so gn says their new panel pulls the same by using just 0.075kwH. that means you must pull at least 3,17g/kwH with the new setup, that's quite ambitious.

Here is some of the very little info GN have released about the new light, they compair it to there old unit rather than make claims on yield.

The new UK manufactured Grownorthern unit is state of the art and uses some of the highest quality components available one of which are the Philips Rebel LEDs as we found the Rebels unmatched in are desired spectrum. The unit is very efficient and uses just 75w but the output and coverage are similar to are previous 180w light the MS0006 it's also smaller dimensionally than the MS0004. The unit will be quiet too as the technology we are using to cool the unit is virtually silent.

Also ive been documenting my grows here for the last 3 years so have a little look through here and you will see how well the old and upgrades Modular lights work. https://www.autoflower.org/search.php?searchid=2101771

GN are solid, quit with the damn negativity. Like Tang said he's been doing it for 3 years and it's been a pleasure watching them, I have yet to see an LED that pulls constant results apart from Groffs and SB. You say about efficiently, my setup with 2 GN cost LESS per grow that what my old shitty 250w HPS did.

so if it's smaller than a ms004 and still got the same coverage like a ms006 it properly has no lenses (good, no light loss!) and uses a reflector instead to spread the light (like bonsai hero or culturlux/san light). the philips rebell leds are competitive to the stuff cree and osram has on offer, so no surprises in this area. the only interesting thing is how hard they run these leds, the softer the better the efficiency gets but you need to increase the number of the leds (expensive) to archieve the same ppfd. if they really use a lot of leds and drive them soft they could archieve a really efficient panel, but you still have high upfront costs that you need to get back by the amount of saved energy over time vs. a panel with the same output but driven harder (less cost upfront and higher energy costs in the long run due to lower efficiency).

Spectrum can play a big roll with efficiency too,if you have a shit spectrum you will need more power to achieve the same results as a dialled in spectrum, this is where R&D is key.

I'm really sorry to have to tell this but we have had another slight set back with the unit which will delay release for another few weeks. We were a few days away from launch but we found a problem with the outer casing during final quality test and inspection so they have to be returned to the fabricator. We hate to delay launch again but we won't release a product that's not up to the quality customers expect from Grownorthern. I totally understand if your disappointed and we can only apologise for that but I assure you when we do release the unit it will be one of the most cutting edge and efficient grow lights on the market. We should be getting the casings back this week.

If you have any questions or feedback please get in touch,

Kind Regards
