Extraction NEW TO EXTRACTS / BASIC QUESTION

In the name of baby steps, can someone please confirm the easiest most basic way/method/product to merge into the world of extracts?.....

I'll follow you on this one.

One advise to all makers of extracts. Listen to an old lab rat...
I notice in most videopresentations, that people make a small, but important technical mistake.
You should ALWAYS make your filters wet with the appropriate solvent prior to use, whether it is coffee filter or a filter made from a fabric. You loose a lot of materal when you let your extract saturate the filter. Saturate filters FIRST with the solvent, then filter the solvent containing the extract. A minimum of material is then left in the filter. If my students dump valualble chemicals on a dry filter, I will remove it from the bench and tell the student to start from scratch, while I watch. To be honest...it is a mistake only amateurs can allow them self to do ONCE and only once.

easiest most basic method would be a mechanical extraction,for that all you need is a 4 part grinder you may have one layin about.
maybe you didnt mean that basic

Good call Dr. I've spent some time posting in the eth extractors thread ,I covered that tip as well,a very important step that I didn't know about at first,in that thread I've also covered ISO/qwiso DIH ,and capsules,( not all were successful,but the info was honest)I'm all about the extracts!! IMO the next easiest way to what Archie suggests is the dry ice hash method ,once you have the kief you can bho,qwet,Quiso,GOB or just smoke it as hash/kief ,dry ice is cheap in CO and the 5 bag set of bubble bags was affordable as well,,,,buds,bags,ice,and a little shaking and your in business !!!

@Moondude here's another super easy way to get some kief without the dry ice,,this is technically not dry sift,but the stuff is as pure as the bag you shake it thru

buds were cured then dried further in bowl ,covered with bag and shaken

to get this as a finished product,I wasn't trying to get a lot because I still eth extracted what was left ...peace

Sure you are honest. If one is one is not trained in lab work, I don't expect every detail right.
What do you think the degree of recovery is? The techniques for hash and oil is easy and beautiful in their simplicity.
I've been thinking of making oil from trimmings and some bud (have to collect for a year without smoking it!). However I prefere smoking it in frear of loosing a thc molecule (do I say who smokes joints...1/10 at least go to the Angels). I don't make medicin. I just want to make my own dope.

When doing qwet extracts I've had a high of 24% and low of 8% average is around 16% per ounce,but I only run bud,and I only run once,when I started to get into extracting I found most of my info from skunkpharm research

I can't afford using bud.I better do as I have done for 15 yrs...smoke joint. My lungs can't deal with the load form a chillum or bong. Also, I prefer the slow paste in smoking a joint. You know, personal habits...

However, years ago, 11 yrs I think, I bought 1 ml oil. I smoked it. It worked well, a little more economic than hash, depending on which sales consultant I could get in touch with. UC, I get no high from eating cannabis. I have liver like a camel. My liver traps and gets rid of every drug molecule that comes with the blood to be filtered for foreign molecules. I don't even get drowsy from morphine pills.

I started this hobby in April. My first 2 cannabis plant ever is maturing, Super Skunk, and a third White Widow, 75 cm is still in veg. I have another tent with three Automazar seedlings. One plant for outdoor, if it's a baby girl. And the last one is a small Widow who had a stem damage as seedling. She is happy, even though she has been the subject of my sadistic experiment. See my White Widow thread...and the Super Skunk thread....and the Outdoor thread... I am quite proud of what I have achieved so far.

Sorry for typing and typing... I got...what is it called in English, the effect of smoking that make you talk like a machine gun...? I got that now, but since I cannot talk to you, I write. Got some great Kashmiri hash and Her Ladyship is sleeping, so here is peace and quite and I'm going to smoke 5 g again this night. I like being alone in the night, smoking joints and surfing the internet. I am here, there and everywhere at the same time.

Haha.or in my case post like a mg....I was in a store and it kept giving me an error,I didn't know it kept posting...anyway yes ,all forms of cannabis are good .and it is dependant on what your body will tolerate and how much material you have,....first grow,awesome,pretty soon you'll be wondering what to do with it all,I wil prolly "dump" another elbo into DIH just for space...Peace bro

I go for that one! That's maximizing ones utilization of the weed and minimizes loss.

Hair straightener and a roll of parchment paper and doing the Rosin press method of oil is another cheap(ish) way to do a "quick and easy" concentrate. Kind of hit or miss, though. Have to get the temp in just the right range which is guess work with your average box store hair straightener. I didn't spend much time messing with it personally because it didn't do it for me with the el-cheapo straightener I got, but a lot of people around the 'Net swear by it. :smoking:

Edit: P.S..Also supposed to combine well with other methods. For example making ice bag hash and then pressing that versus pressing straight bud.
