I'd suck the air out of the grow box, keeping it under vacume. If you pressurize it more odor will escape. I'd definately throw a small A/C unit in the window. Then you'll be able to contain the air and odor in the room. You can then control the temp & RH in the room subsequently controlling the atmosphere in the grow space. Good luck!
Do window ac's pull odor out or just recirculate the same air. My big window ac in living room has a lever on it that says exhaust, when I use it the ac is still cooling but also exhausting and bringing in fresh air from the outside. My little bedroom size ac does not have that feature just ac high or low or fan only, so i'm not sure if it will exhaust the odor and bring in fresh air ??? The living room ac cost over $500 i'm not going to spend that much on my little grow box LOL. Will my smaller window ac exhaust and bring in fresh air while cooling and exhaust and bring in fresh air while just running the fan and not ac for cooling. If this extra little ac I have in basement would work as I described it would solve my problem all the way around as I have one that I'm not using. No more $$$ spent.

Exactly how would you set this up in a 4x4 box with no vent holes other than window? Would you use just the ac? Or would I still need carbon filter, cut holes etc... I just want to do this the right way the first time but I'm not sure what the right way is.

Eddie, I'd guess that a small A/C only cools the air in the room it's in and won't exhaust. Bringing new air into the room requires more energy to cool. Having said that I'd check it if I were you. Run it on the floor before installing it. Try to find some way of making smoke:stylez rasta smoke:and blow some if it into the intake on the A/C. See if it comes out of the back of the unit.

You can buy a flange on Amazon in the same diameter as your vent fan. I have a 81cu/ft tent and use a 200cfm exhaust fan. (see links below) I used 4" aluminum dryer vent and clamps to connect it all. In retrospect I'd pay for a better filter. The fan works well with a Variable Speed control. When I crank my fan up it's noisy. If you're concerned about the noise level consider a larger diameter vent fan and hose. A larger unit can run slower to push the same amt. of air. But check with others as I've never owned a larger fan. I'd put the flange at the top of your box and I'd vent the bottom. You can cover the lower hole with breathable fabric. Good luck!

Yea thats what I was thinking also. I could use the ac on fan only to stir the air when temps are right and run ac on cool when it heats up. And vent carbon filter out of box at the top. Cut hole at bottom for fresh air intake. I also have a dehumidifier and a humidifier and a portable infrared heater I can put in as needed. What do you think ???

I don't know what the the temp and RH are like where you are but I haven't found much need for a humidifier. I run a dehumidifier when the plants get larger and start drinking a lot of water. It sounds like you have all of the right equipment on standby. I have a small clip on fan that I only run when I turn off my exhaust to boost RH. I'd set the A/C at 80F-84F and make sure that the A/C can drain as you'll pull a lot of moisture out of the air.
